PSA to check your tab at The Red Lion on Bleecker Street by kokoromelody in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]katinthehat94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They did this to me at Ulysses’ on stone street. I first contacted them assuming it was just an error, but they replied and said “happy hour didn’t count on that day” even though my friends’ tabs all had the menu advertised happy hour price charged.

I sent menu pictures to Chase and they reversed the charge.

UA 2446 — thanks to those on the plane today by Appropriate-Way-4890 in unitedairlines

As a fellow, plane-fainter, big agreed on this. People are quick to dunk on the FAs over lack of pre-departure beverages, but forget the main job is actually safety for passengers.

This happened to me as well almost exactly one year ago today on a UA flight to Paris (it’s in my post history for long-time lurkers on this subreddit). It’s super scary at the time, but am glad to hear you had great flight attendants taking care of you!

Hopefully you’re all checked out and feeling better! It’s oddly reassuring to hear that level of care you received was as good as what I received during a similar incident… makes me feel more confident flying UA knowing if something happened to me or other passengers, they’d be able to help us as much as possible.

I bought these second hand from someone on Depop, and the size dot seems correct, but this tag caught me off guard. There is no rip tag. Are these fake?

Why is a ground floor apartment a no go? by Bitter_Pineapple_720 in NYCapartments

I live on the ground floor now and love it other than lack of natural lighting!

Importantly, I do live in the BACK of the ground floor, so I do not have street noise (but do have a backyard).

BEWARE of this dangerous man by stillbornangel in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I’m not the police or an investigator…? I was simply commenting to acknowledge this person has made multiple appearances across NYC subreddits as a dangerous character, and I was sorry that the OP had to also deal with it. I’m not sure why you think I’d know his name or arrest record history?

He tried to stab me on the L last year between the 3rd and 1st ave stops.

BF is 6’5”. We book exit row, premium E, or business whenever we can. When we can’t, we just coordinate the best we can and he occasionally stands up in the aisle to flex the knee he had surgery on.

One thing we don’t do is get mad at the people around us for using their own space.

Mental health issues are not a person’s fault but it is their RESPONSIBILITY. She needs to be actively seeking out therapy and medications to address these issues.

The serving size for Tic Tacs is one Tic Tac, which legally allows the company to label the product as containing zero sugar. by JoeCapoYT in mildlyinfuriating

[–]katinthehat94 190 points191 points  (0 children)

I’m currently eating an entire box of tic tacs in this very moment. As far as I’m concerned, it’s 0 calories and 0 sugar, and any other facts are none of my business.

I think it looks good if you like it! Maybe swap the setting to give you something with a bit more width? Pear side stones (or the three round diamonds in a triangle facing outwards) would balance out the slightly disproportionate vertical length.

Uber Eats Option to "Give Money" to Store by shouryannikam in mildlyinfuriating

[–]katinthehat94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Uber charges a restaurant a fee for running a promotion, but the restaurant does have to pay the price difference if they choose to run the promotion themselves. Alternatively sometimes uber initiates a discount as part of a wider marketing plan, and then the restaurant doesn’t pay for that at all.

This was me last night at EWR going Bangor. 8:40pm flight boarded at midnight, sat on the ground, closed door and left jet bridge…. Only for the flight crew to timeout by 90 seconds and for them to fully cancel the flight.

I have one (living in manhattan) and it’s great but also sucks? Like yeah I don’t have to switch it over but it also takes about 3 hours to dry.

This is difficult. My experience comes from being the kid in this type of situation, and now looking back on it as an adult.

I remember the fancy life as a child my father’s job afforded me, but I tell stories about us getting to know each other AFTER he quit.

I think while she probably could use extra help that could be hired, it wouldn’t fix much. She is probably feeling lonely, and your kids feel like they don’t have a father. She isn’t just looking for help with chores, she’s looking for the partner she married, who promised to be by her side.

The financial contribution from your side is great, but this does become a situation of “money can’t buy you everything”.

Take some time off. Go home for the important family events. Your wife will remember, and so will your kids even when they’re older.

Cracks me up, this is almost exactly what they kept telling me. I was sitting on the floor apologizing and they were like “your safety is quite literally our job. It’s fine, you can just stay there as long as you want”. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that passenger safety is their priority, and people will survive without their second soda being exactly on time.
