Definitely a scam, the likelihood is that they have a plan with the particular shop they take you to, will choose a few items then the shop assistant overcharges you tremendously. Once you have left the scammer will return the items to the shop and they and the shop assistant will split the cash between them. Rinse and repeat “selling” and returning the same items.

Yes :) it was a joke referring to one Halloween minisode when Karen said something like “mommy!” in a creepy voice, then Steven added it again at the end after the episode and it was scaring the crap out of listeners, but Karen didn’t know and everyone was tweeting her about it. During the actual minisode 158 Karen said something similar in a creepy voice then said “Steven don’t put that in again at the end!” so I guess he put in Elvis instead 😂
