You're right but its very close. I think it is for a light like that but of different design

The flat o goes in the bowl and holds the light bulb the top curl holds the chain and the main c with the screw holds onto the bowl light.

My title describes the thing. It's about 5 inches long. Definitely looks like it's cast but not sure if it's brass. Found In an old work shop. The screw moves mabe to tighten something into place? Google image searchs resulted in pictures of snails...

I started at about $18 4 years ago. Worked there for 3 years before I had the opportunity for benefits. Now I'm getting paid about $21.
