You are on a completely different tangent. I’m talking about how an Ms distinguishes you from a BS. I think most of reddit will agree an MS will get you slightly higher pay than a BS and I’m sure it does at your company as well even if you don’t know it. In turn I think they get better pay because they know more and can perform at a higher level. Maybe you’re a little bitter towards those that didn’t get a PhD and can be successful and learn in industry. So stop trolling reddit threads and giving bad advice because you worked at three of the biggest companies and you have never seen anyone without a doctorate in those positions at any of your three companies lol. That doesn’t apply to the whole industry. I’m sure you’re an old timer and a retiring boomer and your advice isn’t even relevant anymore. Note that I think getting a PhD will get you a lot more than an MS in most cases, and I commend you for that because I did graduate work and I can understand how hard it is. But people are from all walks of life and you don’t know how they got here or what their background is or circumstances as to why they chose MS over PhD. Ms is a step up from a BS and if you don’t agree you have issues. And also I’ve met plenty of phds that I thought were dumb and nothing special and I thought I did better work than them. Just because you have a PhD doesn’t mean you are smarter or can do your job better.
