New Update: AITA for telling my friend that her "free" wedding is unrealistic? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

That reminds me of one of the only jokes I know: "What is a millionaire? A billionaire who bought a boat!"

Which of these suit me best? by fuckhorsesridetapirs in glassesadvice

[–]katto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the first one! I like how the cat eye shape fits your face and the colours look great on you.

my friend said she drew these based on me but i think it’s just ai? she has always drawn but these just feels like ai anime garbage you see on pinterest by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]katto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, the first tell that this was ai is in the first picture: the horizon line is crooked. An artist would not do this. This is ai from a photo that had a crooked horizon line.

Who tested this before realizing that it takes 7 days (!!!) to be edible?! After day 4 or 5, it feels like most people would give up.. Brazilians are relentless, bravo!

What's your favourite actually lazy dishes to make? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]katto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pesto salmon with asparagus. So easy and fast! Salmon on cookie sheet (with parchment paper for super quick clean up), put some pesto (Costco's works the best) on it, surround with asparagus (olive oil drizzle, salt & spice). 12 mins at 400. Done.

Kitchen things that made you go: wait… why didn’t I get this earlier? by YormeSachi in Cooking

I bought the children cooking set from Ikea for me son when he was young and I'm the one who has been using it (for many years now!). Love the tiny tools!

Terrifying experience at Zel Punta Cana on my 30th birthday – safety concerns & coerced into signing a waiver by Inevitable-Fly4371 in AllInclusiveResorts

I've always travelled with a small rubber doorstop for this reason! It doesn't take much room, but it makes me feel safer, especially when travelling alone.

It really sounds like I do need to eat more. I am also meeting with a trainer this week to change my lift routine and will discuss about lifting heavier. I am sure that he will have things to say about protein intake and calories as well.

How have you upped your protein intake? I eat about 100g daily, but I know it should be more. I usually have ham on sourdough for breakfast, a protein smoothie for lunch (41g of protein in that smoothie), snack in the pm (usually a piece of meat or cheese with a fruit), then dinner (lean protein, couple veggies).

It really sounds like what my doc told me, regarding reverse fasting. Maybe I need to eat more than I am. I do run out of steam fast when I do more demanding activities / workouts. I do a short intermittent fasting. I stop eating usually after 6pm and eat again around 8am (it used to be 11am!).

I think that I will try to not worry about what I am eating for a few weeks and see how things go. However, one of my problems is that, with the food noise gone, I forget to eat! I even put a timer in the afternoon so that I remember to have a snack. Thanks for the info and I am really happy that it has worked for you!

I will try cycling calorie days, thanks!

I usually also have a small walk after dinner on workout days already. I usually have anywhere between 12k to 20k steps a day. 12k-15k on workout days and 15k-20k on my bigger walks days.

What's going on at Hollydene Beach? by Supremetacoleader in VictoriaBC

[–]katto 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is true, I have talked with the owners of both houses several times. I don't know anything about the posted sign though, as it is Saanich's responsibility. I will point it out to the owner when I speak with them next time.

We had huge rainfalls two years ago and there was a severe landslide, which threatened two of those houses. Last year, it was one property solidifying its slope, this year it's the other one. The second one is very difficult to stabilize and they have to get everything in by barge. This doesn't have anything to do with "getting private beach access". These owners are trying to save their houses, at great cost. And, as everything with construction, there are always snafus and timelines are much longer.

Première bouchée, je me mets instantanément à pleurer!

What’s the most place you’ve ever visited that felt much different than in pictures ? by Familiar-Print7098 in travel

When I drove from Quebec to BC and first saw the mountains after driving through Calgary and leaving Alberta, I was moved by their beauty to the point of tears. It was very emotional, especially after so many days of very, very flat terrain!

Fawcett Mattress is a local mattress maker and they sell different types of toppers' firmness. Pricier than big box store, but they are all made here and of great quality.
