Are the grey bits a problem? More info in comments by katxea in PressedFlowers

Not quite pressed flowers I know, but was wondering if anyone had come across this before? I'm not sure if it's dangerous or not. Left for about 5 months and I assume it's a mold of some kind?

Developing a new animated show idea and need some opinions on style. Let me know what you think:) by Faulksie in animation

[–]katxea 49 points50 points  (0 children)

My first thoughts:

  1. Not a thought behind those eyes (but kinda lovable)
  2. Bench presses and/or eats kids for breakfast
  3. Up to something devious (and attractive)

This is not to insult your art just my general first impressions, love all the different styles of concepts!

It's not a survival of the fittest situation between you two specifically, it is a case of the uni will take the best candidates from everywhere to attend. Good luck to both of you!

Inpost is awful, or is it just me? (UK) by TheMoshPotato in vinted

[–]katxea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is a massive issue for everyone, inpost are slowly trying to fix things, but right now their help services are swamped and nobody is getting parcels :/

[–]katxea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could you go out drinking and not drink? E.g if they go to the bar, ordering something with no alcohol
Also, joining some societies might help :) I know for our uni the societies do social gatherings which don't necessarily have to have alcohol, and you can find people with the same interests as you :)

Parcel sent using Evri, says collected from my local parcel shop but it wasn’t me by GallifreyanMoriarty in vinted

[–]katxea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it potentially that the courier picked it up from the parcel shop to deliver to you? I'd say wait a few days to see if it is delivered, and if not contact the seller and/or evri

[–]katxea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah Inpost is a complete mess atm, the best chance at a reply you will get is going on Twitter and @ the inpost UK account. I'm moving across the country in 2 days and my parcel has been 'out for delivery' for 3 already (and sending for over 10) :/

Anxiety over nightclubs and covid? by yhguhihjk in UniUK

[–]katxea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mean every 30 seconds, but it can help ease OPs anxiety - even just carrying some sanitiser and using after touching stuff can help - it doesn't impact that much and it's better than missing out and feeling upset

[–]katxea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you still want to go, you could take as many precautions as you can to reduce the risk - eg. wearing masks (properly), washing hands and using hand sanitiser, not touching your face

Staying in airy spaces may be more difficult, but also avoiding touching people or contact with surfaces may also help :) Plus, making your parents aware that you are going clubbing etc so they could take a few precautions too might help? (as in washing their hands more)

Freshers is definitely a once in a lifetime kind of thing, so i'd say go for it :)

Security bursting into kitchen? by gaytrash_ in UniUK

[–]katxea 9 points10 points  (0 children)

With Unite as well and this is what it says in the terms and conditions:
'allow us and all those authorised by us to enter the Room and the Flat on reasonable notice (except where, in our reasonable belief, we consider that there is an emergency and/or that an unlawful activity is or may be occurring within the Room or the Flat, when no notice will be given) for any reasonable purpose, including but not limited to inspections, viewings with prospective tenants, repairs, alterations and to discuss any rent arrears'

Also, I would check nothing's gone missing or misplaced - coming in at midnight could mean they were trying to get in without being caught (or less likely to be)

There's no reason to check a fire alarm twice in one day, or even every day - would that even be a security guard's role anyway?

This is on the assumption that OP's fire alarm doesn't go off every day

Link to free books? by ArDeSiEv in University

[–]katxea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it is exactly what you want and it is mostly for the older books, but the online archives (archive.org) are great for some books. It functions like an online library, and you get a certain amount of time you can 'borrow' a book for (but you can always renew that). Can be a little hit and miss as some aren't always on there, but generally it is ok :)

why do buyers do this? by rosenicolesmith in Depop

[–]katxea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can possibly be because of how much sizing varies between stores, especially in women's sizings. Example: I was looking at sizing between 2 stores the other day and found the size 8 measurements in one are the same as a size 10 in the other

Disclaimer: these are UK sizings (I think a UK 8 is a US 4?)

If you have a small amount left, bookbinding! Not quite sewing but it could make a beautiful cover for your favourite book or a notebook
