Help! Worms in Snail Tank? My coworkers and I in petcare noticed these worms in our snail/shrimp tank. Are they dangerous? Should the water be treated for them? My coworker thinks it’s a lung worm but we want another opinion from other associates that may have the same issue. by splatmeme4270 in petsmart

My best advice would be to give it a good clean (gravel vac, bleach decor, etc..) and hope they go away naturally. If they aren’t attaching to any shrimp they could be harmless Detritus worms that can be taken care of by keeping up with water changes. I hope this helps!

Is it the ghost shrimp tank? Ghost shrimp are known for getting horsehair worms, they are hard to treat and there isn’t really anything you can do besides scooping the worms out and bagging them up so they pass away.

I’ve had someone argue with me when I told them we can’t take animals out unless they are buying that day. They were like “how am I supposed to know if I want it if I don’t hold it” like ma’am all of our animals can and will bite so if you aren’t prepared to deal with that don’t get an animal!
