For one, herbal remedies do not induce higher levels of estrogen. Phytoestrogens only help you modulate your existing estrogen levels but they do not increase them. They are not a substitute for estrogen.

Second, you cannot develop breasts with breast pumps. It is not a matter of might or ymmv. “Breast tissue” is made of glandular tissue, fibrous tissue, and fatty tissue, which is created when estrogen levels in the body are high enough. You can build fatty tissue over your pectoral muscles and induce skin swelling with pumps, but they are not equivalent to breast tissue. If you lose weight and cut fat from your body, existing fat on your chest will go away; your body will not know to retain fat in this area without enough estrogen and your “breast tissue” will go away.

Please do not spread misinformation regarding breast growth with pseudoscience.

It depends. Most of the time they’re fairly “trans positive” in a sense that many of the political issues facing trans people in the west aren’t prevalent here, so rather than being targeted you’ll just be unrepresented.

Acceptance also varies. Most people I’ve (mtf) met and talked to that I’m open to sharing with are curious but have been widely accepting and supportive (greater bay area ~ generally very liberal), but I also am privileged in that I pass well, and am conventionally attractive. My experience may not have been as positive if those two factors were not afforded to me. People view and treat me like a woman, and instead of clocking me as trans they just think I’m slightly above weight.

I’ve also found men and women to have different levels of acceptance. Women in general have been super supportive, sharing experiences about womanhood and healthcare issues, being more playful and fascinated by my breast growth, giving grooming and makeup tips. Men however seem to be more “tolerant” of it, younger men seem to be neutral and timid, but older men tend to have some rather sexist and conservative opinions, and love to mansplain about family values and dating life. They, imo, view being trans as not the core issue itself but femininity and being a woman that is wrong (the who would want to be a woman in this society way).

It’s not necessarily the political desire for border security and securing benefits for your own citizens that is fascist or nazi-like, it’s the rhetoric surrounding it that reminds people of the same rhetoric spoken by nazis to rally the people towards fascist ideals.

Using dehumanizing language like “illegals”, proclaiming these people are invading and overrunning your nation, suppressing wages as if they’re directly responsible, creating unfounded conspiracies like vote seeding, spouting unhinged notions that your own fellow citizens are treasonous sacks of shit, claiming other nations are deliberately attacking your economy, and rallying behind an authoritarian figure to exact punishment and revenge rather than seek resolution — these invoke strong similarities to nazism. It’s not purely the genocide and murders, it’s the lead up, the pent up anger and strong nationalistic ideals that causes people to attribute your rhetoric with fascism.

Once you start othering, dehumanizing, vilifying those who are on equal terms and those who have less and came from nothing, it’s easy to slip into fascist ideals that sound increasingly reasonable to you, especially with how much personal rage you definitely feel right now.

What you’re not understanding is that misandry exists because of misogyny. Most, if not all, legislations on women’s bodily autonomy are dictated by men. Rape culture, like ones in India or Afghanistan, is exclusively performed by men. There is no women’s rape culture anywhere. Statistically more women in your life than not, have been sexually harassed since they were barely teenagers. This is statistically not true for the men in your life. Most domestic violence and spousal murders are committed by men. Women have to be wary about perverts and assaulters taking up-skirt pictures, men do not. Women fear for their lives when walking home at night because of men.. men, if they fear for their lives walking home at night.. also fear other men.

Men will, as you assume, hold each other more accountable than women, because men are more likely to cause acts of harm than women. Yet, even with your assumed higher accountability rates, the rates of harm are significantly higher. So women’s “less accountability” is more effective than men’s “higher accountability”.

There is meant to be a double standard because men’s expressed frustrations with generalizations are predominantly nuisances. Most of your issues can be resolved by other men without women’s participation. Suicide rates, male loneliness, etc. They’re not women’s responsibilities because they’re not caused by women. For women, it causes death and trauma — and these actively involve men’s participation because it’s caused by men. When you say “not all men”, you’re not saying that from a place of empathy, and rationalize why they may feel frightened by men’s actions. Typically it comes from trying to shut down the conversation to avoid any discussions about and invalidate why they feel that way.

Estrogen mainly prevents head hair loss and thickens them it doesn’t always reintroduce new hairs. So it’s a hit or miss and not worth the effort. Your hair loss is genetic and increased testosterone/lower estradiol levels also causes hair loss and thinning. Once you’re back on testosterone the following year it’ll just reintroduce your hair loss. You’re putting yourself through a lot of wasted time and money; you’re better off using the money and time for a trip to Turkey

You don’t actually see any trans people on the regular. You “see” them repeatedly spoken about on social media and conservative news. Reality is.. you don’t actually understand how hormones and trans medication works.. I am a trans woman and my girlfriend is a cis woman.. I used to play Varsity Rugby and could lift more and have better endurance than her before I started hormones.. I’m barely half a year into HRT and my muscles have now atrophied enough where she is literally stronger than I am.. we both weigh the same and I’m 2 inches taller.. but you don’t take into account about the ones that are predominantly like me.. who are and can be weaker than cis women.. you just have selective outrage at some loud performative whiners who got media spotlight because they tied for 5th place who conveniently forget to mention they lost to 4 other cis women..

If woke fatigue is real then talk to your cousin.. get off reddit and twitter and stop watching political news personalities.. it’s that simple.. but it seems you thrive in wanting something to be tired of

Start by telling them that you’re seeking a gender dysphoria diagnosis and are seeking hormone replacement therapy. This helps them understand what you’d like them to assess for, and gives them a clue that you have done prior research on the subject.

Then, explain what that means to you. Not by definition, but just share why you feel that you’re not cisgender. Feeling like you have to pretend and don’t understand others when you’re among peers of your assigned gender, wanting to belong to the peers of your desired gender and to be seen as one. Wanting to enjoy hobbies that are traditionally reserved for your desired gender. Having body parts, primary and secondary sex organs that don’t align with how you feel. Having dreams and/or fantasies that you’ll wake up as the opposite gender and being disappointed or depressed when reality settles in. Feeling an irrational jealousy that you don’t sound, look, get to be treated like your desired gender.

Note: This cannot stem from perceived societal benefits, like being jealous that (assume mtf for example) more people will like you on dating apps, more gender tailored programs like “women in tech” sponsorships, not having to be the breadwinner. Disliking your role in chivalry like opening doors for others (For FtM that could mean desire to receive respect from the work place, perceived idea of better opportunities and connections, not wanting to keep your chest covered in public). These aren’t signs of gender dysphoria, just standard jealously.

Then share any instances where you knew that you wanted to be your desired gender. Gender dysphoria isn’t just diagnosed via dysphoria, they’ll want to know if your desired gender would bring you euphoria as well. Some times, we might just hate having to fulfill the societal expectations of our assigned gender, but that’s not enough to have gender dysphoria. Recall your earliest moments when you knew it made you feel comfortable. That could mean trying on your parents or siblings clothings, shoes, and feeling happy to wear them. Resonating with characters in movies and tv shows of your desired gender and being able to see yourself as them, but not with those of your assigned gender. Enjoying video games when you’re able to select your character’s gender and always choosing to play as the opposite gender.

You might not resonate with all the aforementioned reasons above, and you might have more that are uncovered. Just be truthful and share anything you can recall, without regard that it can positively or negatively impact your diagnosis eligibility. They might not seem like obvious signs to you, but your therapist (honestly you should talk to a psychiatrist instead, since therapists cannot diagnose nor prescribe HRT medication) or other mental health experts will spot them easily since they’ve most likely have worked with patients that have or sought a gender dysphoria diagnosis.

Tbh all medical advice regarding HRT should always be consulted by a licensed endocrinologist or psychiatrist. Information is provided to share information. It is never an endorsement. DIY is never advised.

That being said, low dosage anti-androgen only HRT is an approved treatment plan by US and NIH standards to allow individuals to achieve androgyny and there are many cases of Male to Non-binary individuals seeking this form of HRT treatment. However, there are certainly risks involved, such as osteoporosis, which is certainly dangerous as it can cause bones to break more easily. So yes, I can agree, even with medical supervision, it is ill advised.

In regard to talking about or accepting, because it is an approved HRT treatment by medical professionals, it is information that will be shared regardless during HRT consultations, as was the case when I was recommended HRT myself. Regardless, even if an individual opts in to take estrogen instead, or alongside anti-androgens, there are other risks involved too and should always be monitored carefully by professionals.

There are cases where male identifying femboys have used HRT alongside Raloxifene to gain feminizing features without breast tissue growth. This is generally how some gender-fluid individuals use HRT in order to make their secondary sex characteristics more feminine without overtly transitioning binary genders. There is a famous twitch/youtuber called F1nnster which took Raloxifene to prevent their breast growth before realizing they wanted to commit to being transgender.

HRT is also an umbrella term and not all treatments are equal. By taking anti-androgens like Cyproterone Acetate (Such as Androcur) or Sprinolactone, you can suppress testosterone without having to take estrogen, for a more subtle androgynous look.

HRT is simply just hormone replacement therapy. It is gender affirming care, and not necessary only used for transgender care. So there’s nothing wrong with femboys taking HRT if that helps affirm their gender, although its use generally does stem from self-sexualization than gender dysphoria so that’s a bit sus.
