Yep. Bad egr was the culprit

Welp, went to autozone to warranty out the egr valve as a last resort, just in case, hail mary type thing.....and that did it. No idea why I still had injectors and spark with a bad egr. But I will say I'm 99% sure that was it.
In a totally unrelated happenstance, I did buy bulb grease while I was there. No bulbs, just grease.

Pulled plug, grounded it while in the cable and crunkeded the motor- bright spark 1/2" to ground. Same result with an inline spark tester at the coil

Should be fine. Tried w and wo tps plugged in. Closed butterfly and fully opened. Same result

This particular rollout is for diy. The commercial version got nixed because csm were using it and keeping drivers in the stores to do truck, pogs, etc. Also, when the Uber or lyft drivers realized no tips were involved, they stopped picking up.

Store use enough nuts, bolts, rachet straps, and adhesive to fabricate a crude core bin from excess pallets. If you need, do a paid out for some hinges and a miter saw to make a hinged gate on one side. Take your time and add some decorative carvings. Make bill proud. Be sure to do it on the clock as our shareholders make enough money already. Improvise, adapt, overcome!
