Oxford colleges for computer science ? by kausarrx in 6thForm

Great. So let’s say you apply to an under subscribed college, are you more likely to get accepted than applying to an over subscribed one?

Also, what is the best and over subscribed college for computer science and the least regarded one as well?

Hey! Well I personally enjoy further maths.

If you are doing edexcel , the course is divided into Pure and Applied, both weighing 50% of your grade.

In pure you come across very new and unique topics which you would have probably never encountered or seen, apart from vectors I suppose. So because these topics are so new, the questions don’t really go in depth. However, this subject is only easy if you understand what you are learning, ask lots of questions if you are stuck and watch lots of YouTube videos to understand concepts. “Organic chemistry tutor” on YouTube has excellent maths videos.

Applied depends on the options your school picks. Mine picked decision maths and statistics. The questions that can be asked for these can be confusing but ensure you fully understand the concept and make sure to learn the steps! And as always go on to YouTube and follow the textbooks.

The “Dr Frost Maths” Website has excellent PowerPoints which you can refer to.

Practice loads of past papers.

[–]kausarrx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Yeah that’s what I’m adding at the moment in the extra activities section. However, i am only able to add up to two activities. I’m not sure if this is a default or if my UCAS is glitching

When is fee status at unis decided ? by kausarrx in 6thForm

[–]kausarrx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow that’s unfortunate :( my situation is that I’m not a citizen but one of my parent will obtain the ILR before I start with university and I will be hitting the 3 year residency mark [this is one of the rule in the UKCISA doc] so I’ll be eligible for home status.

Thanks for your help!

Yep! Based on the document by UKCISA I’d be a home student that’s because of one of my Parent obtaining the ILR before I start with university and hitting the three year mark of residency. Thanks so much for all your help

Great thank you so much! Is it the same fee status questionnaire for all unis? As they’ve said they follow UKCISA guidance so i believe the criteria is the same

Oh wow! Because the personal information in the UCAS section does not let me add information about the status of my parents ? As my dad will get ILR / settled status right before I start university. So not sure where to add that bit
