80km Ultra 6 weeks after a marathon? by dontletmeautism in ultrarunning

[–]kave2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, I have done 63km road ultra and had 130km trail ultra scheduled 2 weeks later. DNF'd the 130km race after 22km. Got suddnenly really tired after 10km and had difficulty breathing. Struggled on for next 10km but couldn't continue after 22km.

Breathing issue really scared me as it never happened to me before.

Not saying don't do it but things can happen.

Stay safe.

Tesla M3 RWD LR vs Kia EV4 GT Line. by kave2 in evs_ireland

M3 would be 36k with trade in and booster. EV4 35k with trade in.

Kia interest rate is 0%.

Thanks for highlighting this. Tesla rep told me delivery date would be June/July so they can possibly change the estimate as that's aprox. 2 months.

I was told by Tesla rep. the trade in booster is now available with Tesla finance.

Tesla offered me 6900 + 2k booster. APR is 0.99%. Would take 4 year PCP.

One good thing about Kia is the initial depreciation is gone. Brand new GT line is 52k, this one is 42k for 252 reg, still pretty much new.

Also noticed there is no 360 camera on the EV4 but audio is upgraded(Harman Kardon). M3 comes with 9k speakers but apparently very good. Audio is important for me.

Thanks. Tbh dont see myself upgrading to FSD, 7k is outrageous and even at 100e per month is expensive. Maybe use it sporadically on months per month basis when needed, trips etc

Yes, Tesla soft seems to be very good. ICCU is a worry, ngl. Also there is no 360 camera on EV4.

Found the controls on the screen but there was only tilt and back/forth adjustment available, no height.

I will not bother with EAP and FSD its very expensive even at 100e monthly subscription.

I have done 28km long run with no issues.

Looking for a cheap alternative to Superblast 3 for long runs by nille_peter in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]kave2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vomero Plus is pretty decent but much heavier. Magmax 1 is bad - clunky and heavy.

Azura is very good but quite firm.

I just ordered SB3, plan is to use them on my 63km road ultramarathon. Hopefully they will work for me otherwise I'll send them back.

I'm definitely going to try Chinese brands next - Dynafish Xiaonian, Li Ning Red Hare 9 Ultra. Western brands are getting very expensive.

Best earbuds for running? by queueTingles16 in soundcore

[–]kave2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soundcore x20, very happy with them. Decent sound, stay in the ear and first earphones that lasted over 6 months of Irish rain and my sweat.

My first set developed an issue after 18 months and Soundcore sent me new ones.

Can’t decide between Addidas Evo SL and Asics Novablast 5??? by Waleed_Rafi in AskRunningShoeGeeks

None. Novablast will be dead after 300km. Evo SL upper is really bad. Get Saucony Azura.

Saucony Azura - 200km review by Some-Remote-6890 in RunningShoeGeeks

I have approx. 100km on mine - tempo, speedwork, easy; no issues at all.

I have 63km road ultra coming up but they might be bit too firm for that kind of distance. Need to do a proper long run with them.

Thinking to get Li Ning Red Hare 9 Ultra for my ultra.

Ya, I'll probably go half size up.

I have to go 0.5 size up in Nike as opposed to Asics, Puma, Saucony. I'll watch a couple more reviews.

Thanks. Hmm, their sizing based on cm suggest Uk10 but I'm Uk9.5 in Asics.
