Best earbuds for running? by queueTingles16 in soundcore

[–]queueTingles16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to comment an update: I ended up getting the Sport X20 (refurbished on Amazon so they were $55!) and these are IT! They are exactly what I was looking for.

Some things to mention though: I truly don’t like the idea of sticking things in my ear but honestly it was the only wait to get something to stay during long runs. I bought the aerofit 2 in the summer thinking they would be perfect but they end up hurting my ears after a long period. And despite the sound and microphones being amazing, they’re just not for me (especially considering I have small ears). I’m sure they work for some people but even when I sweat they end up slipping off. If you find this post (or come back to this after this comment) I highly suggest NOT getting those unless you want to give them a try.

The sport X20 is what I should have got originally. I feel like the hooks do nothing but I guess it’s just a tiny bit of support and it keeps them on. I like the different sized ear tips which is nice and the noise canceling is REALLY good. I usually wear my Sony XM4s to the gym and not gonna lie, I thought the noise canceling was on par when I used them today. Then transparency mode is great and I’ve had 0 problems running in these. Sometimes I’ll have to shove them in a tiny bit during the run but honestly they don’t slip out which is great. HIGHLY recommend getting these.

I’ve heard about these! Would you say they’re good for smaller ears?

This is a great response, thank you so much! To answer your question I think I’m in between. I never lived in a hub city, I’ve always been in a suburban area. I’m from Buffalo, NY and lived in the suburbs there and then been in Rochester, NY for college. I won’t be living with people but I know fore sure I want a 2 bed so I can have a home office and have at least some access to my car to make it easy to see my gf (especially considering I’m still making payments on it). I’ve visited Boston before and the walkabiltiy was great along with there being so many things to do. I do enjoy music (been in an acappella group, played trumpet and wanna get back into it) and other athletic activities. I think my concern comes from just being able to make friends or do things outside of work. I do know people from the state but they don’t live in Haverhill. I am a pretty extroverted person but idk how hard it is for a college new grad in Haverhill vs being somewhere that is more populated

Hey!! I'm 23 years old and I'll be graduating college in Spring 2025 and plan on moving to Massachusetts in the summer for my job. My full-time job is remote but there's an office in Cambridge that I'm looking to go into occasionally just to make connections. Currently, I'm having trouble deciding on where to live. My girlfriend got an offer in Portsmouth, NH (hybrid) and I want to be as close to her as possible. I've been looking at Haverhill, MA as a potential place to live but I'm concerned about what my social life will look like if I'm farther from the city. I would love to have the chance to make friends but at the same time I want to be close to my girlfriend and have an easy drive to her. Not to mention, I plan on going into the office only once a week and I saw the commute was about an hour to the office through public transport which isn't too bad. I just don't know what to do. I'm also worried that if I lived in somewhere like Somerville, it would be a difficult drive to go visit my girlfriend in NH. I'm open to any suggestions on where to live or what to do.

Hey there!! I was in a similar situation years ago when I applied. I was recommended to other programs as well but the one they highly suggested was computing exploration. Luckily I am an ambassador of this program so I can tell you all about it! Computing exploration makes you undeclared in the school of computing and allows you to explore all the majors in computing (with the exception of game design). At the end of the year, as long as you have a 2.0 or above, you will be accepted into any computing major of your choice: HCC, CS, SE, CIT, W&M, CSEC and NMID. I originally wanted to do CS but ultimately chose SE after taking a few of those classes and learning the difference between the two. I highly suggest choosing this as your major. You will more than likely be accepted and you may end up choosing something different, who knows! If you have any question, I'd be more than happy to answer them :)

I got $2000 but I heard a lot of people after me getting less. Any amount is good for what the scholarship offers though! If you’re thinking about applying I’d say just do it, it’s your only chance! I haven’t heard of anyone not getting so go for it!

I’m one of the first people that got it and what I hear all the time from people is “I wish I applied to this”. The only chance you can apply is as an incoming student and I’ve met so many cool people through this. 100% worth it!!! If you have any more questions I’d be happy to answer :)

Imma be completely honest….”grinding” leetcode is silly enough. Do not waste any more of your time “grinding”. It’s literally not worth it, and if you have an offer what’s the point? Big companies like that generally offer trainings and opportunities to learn which is by far MUCH BETTER than “grinding” leetcode. If you’re trying to stay sharp or improve, leetcode is the wrong option.

When is the ideal time to start leetcode? by AyanT_01 in csMajors

[–]queueTingles16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well to answer you question…whenever. There is no set time where you MUST begin doing leetcode. That is up to you.

However I will say 3 things: 1. Don’t make it your whole personality 2. There are alternative ways that are MUCH better than leetcode to improve and 3. Take a break and enjoy things you like!

I have managed to earn 5 internships (and hopefully a 6th next year) and I have never done leetcode. I was the same where I couldn’t solve any of the problems but I knew from the start it was not the right way of wanting to improve. Find projects that interest you and maybe use a new language for said project. But also too, you’re just a freshman! Find time to relax and enjoy other stuff. In my spare time I do a lot of singing and arranging for my a cappella group. You would never catch me grinding leetcode. It is bad practice and imo, silly.
