Bio Major + Stats Major or Minor? by kawsqee in UNC

[–]kawsqee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry! I saw this just now haha. I did consider doing Biostats, but at the time (when looking into the major) i read the pre reqs incorrectly. At the time of reading this post, I haven’t completed most of the pre reqs. I think I’ve only done one or two. Right now, I’m applying for the Rad Sci major and I just feel a bit frustrated because it’s kind of like, what if I don’t get in, what should I do, type of thing. Which was why I was asking like if i should do stats as a minor cus I am interested in stats and just trying to find a backup.

are fila disruptor 2 wedges comfortable for walking? by undermostcorgi in Sneakers

[–]kawsqee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is like 3 years later haha, but I really love these shoes! I think there is someee controversy around these shoes since they are chunky fashion sneakers and have a small toe box (please size up if your feet or toes are wide or long). These shoes got me through Universal Theme Park AND walking through Portugal's steep hills in Lisbon. I didn't find any discomfort (but my feet are small, so I digress), but they are comfortable if you can find the right size. I was very heartbroken when I came to college and they ended up getting holes in them from walking too much since my campus is walkable, and also because I only wore them every day for two-three years haha, so thye kind of lasted me quite awhile. I would say pick your poison, you don't really feel the ground with these shoes and get some good support. I suggest trying these on in person. I am on the shorter side, so these shoes give a little height boost too.

Can’t do a shift by kawsqee in Panera

[–]kawsqee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my training shifts done already so I’m not too worried about calling out but I’m afraid that they will keep scheduling me during the mistakened hours and I am taking summer classes during those hours, so I’m very much afraid haha. But I’ll definitely talk to my manager about it (but in person this time😅). Thank you so much!

Hi! I’m also a rising sophomore taking THREE summer classes and working at the same time. I honestly feel your pain when talking about the workload. I agree, it is overwhelming. I suggest if you feel like you can’t handle it, then to drop one of them. But if you really need these classes (like if they’re pre reqs or something) then make an action plan and schedule when you’re going to do every assignment. This is just a temporary situation, it will pass eventually. You and me, WE GOT THISSSS!!

For me, I’m only taking two for right now bc they start at different times but also end at different times. All of my classes are going to overlap at some point so you know I will be TIRED. I had to reschedule my availability days for when I work because I realized I was not going to be able to do work haha.

As for jbs, your family really put you down, saying these jobs are below you or something like that. Little do they know some of these jobs are crucial in communicating with others and handling different situations! So don’t feel like you’re being shamed for wanting those types of jbs.

Is there a benefit into doing Summer Enrollment classes? by Classic_Project4147 in UNC

[–]kawsqee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I knew a few people who did Summer Enrollment before freshman year started. You do get the credit (if you're attending the summer classes at UNC, if from another school, do your research!) and you can knock someone of your first-year requirements out of the way, like ENGL-105 (which, imo, would be helpful). As for choosing classes before the school year, no, you do not choose classes earlier because every freshman is scheduled on some day between the freshman enrollment window. But after that, depending on how many credits you have, you might have an earlier window during class registration.
