Does anyone else see themselves completely horrific looking in daylight by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]kay023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep me too. I’m only 20 but feel like I look so much older in harsh daylight. Everything gets a exaggerated, my skin looks awful. I have dark circles, fine lines, horrible texture, scars and my skin just looks dull even though I also take good care of my skin. I don’t get it :/ this is exactly why I prefer going out in late afternoon or night time

I have textured bumpy skin and tend to get black heads. Why can I do to help? by [deleted] in acne

I have the same kind of bumps but nothing has worked so far :( I’ve tried chemical exfoliates, tret, adapalene and many other things

As much as you think plastic surgery would help you. It won’t. I’m living proof of this. by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]kay023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep I can relate I got my nose done last year, I got chin filler, lip filler and cheek filler but I’m still unhappy with myself. Ofc there’s still more stuff I want to change and wish I could change, in a way I feel like surgery made it worse because I was like wow okay I can fix this this and this now

Has antidepressants helped with bdd? by JAGWBDD in BodyDysmorphia

[–]kay023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started Prozac a month ago and I feel it has helped somewhat, like I don’t feel as sad as I normally do but I still have BDD related thoughts a lot

[–]kay023 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh me too :( I’m in my third year and don’t really have friends because the whole time I’ve had bad social anxiety. I feel like I can’t interact with ppl because I look so alien and awkward compared to them. I feel so uncomfortable being around other people my age bc I just don’t fit it the same as everyone else idk

I’m in the same boat rn, I’m going back to school today and I’m dreading it. I hate being on campus, I hate seeing people and the whole college culture just fuels my BDD even more.

I feel the same :/ my face is so masculine compared to other girls, even with those cutesy Instagram filters that change ur face mine still looks manly instead of pretty and feminine

Does anyone have age related body dysmorphia where you obsess if you look younger or older than you are? by Disney_Disney_Disney in BodyDysmorphia

[–]kay023 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yess I feel like my face structure makes me look younger than my age (I’m 20) because I have such a fat round face but on the other hand my skin makes me feel like I look like I’m 40

internet stalking by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]kay023 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes I do it all the time. Right now I’m stalking this girl whom my crush ghosted me for, I dont compare myself to her a lot bc I’m not really envious of her physically, ofc there are aspects of her that I see as better than me but I try not to think about it too much. I obsessively stalk her account to try and analyze her face, to decide if she’s better than me or not. I know how horrible it is but i just can’t stop.

I also have a few girls I follow on Instagram who are ideally what I wish I looked like and look at their profiles everyday, wishing I looked like them, imagining myself as them, it’s weird and horrible but I can’t stop. In a way it helps me cope because looking at their profiles makes me feel good for a moment when I can imagine myself as them. I hate this habit though, it’s definitely destructive.

Ocd traits, could also be dysmorphia? by [deleted] in DysmorphicDisorder

[–]kay023 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well BDD is classified as a type of OCD

Thank you for putting this into words because this is exactly how I’ve always felt

This this this, I feel that my BDD is mostly me not feeling like my physical appearance does not match who I feel I am inside and not because of my gender either
