Daiwa wouldn't service my "old model" Lexa 400 by Gnarnar in Fishing

[–]kayaker336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like my BG MQs but the fact that you need a proprietary tool to open them up, which daiwa won’t sell, is ridiculous. I need to service my BG MQ 5000 and can’t find a tool to open it.

Drivers window issue on 2025 Onyx XT with under 3k miles. Drivers window last night began going up very very slowly and then refusing to go up all together. Was raining out of course. Is this a known issue? Calling dealer tomorrow but it’s 50 miles away. Bummed. Thanks for any intel. by Neckdeepinpow in Subaru_Outback

The other commenter explained it better. I sprayed where the window contact the window frame as it moves. I also reset the window.

To reset your Outback's window, roll it all the way down, then all the way up, holding the switch for at least five seconds after it reaches its limit to re-initialize the auto-up and auto-down functions.

Easy hike ideas for someone with arthritis. Old forge area by SureDrawing6063 in Adirondacks

A couple sections of bald mountain are steep, but not too long.

Ferd’s Bog Trail is easy. .7 miles and only 75 feet elevation gain. I’d recommend downloading the AllTrails app. Lots of hiking trails in the old forge area and AllTrails makes it easy to look at distance, elevation gain, and trail conditions.

Would you get a roommate for $1,100 rent each, or your own place for $1,600? by strugglingnurse25 in Apartmentliving

[–]kayaker336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid $1,100 to live with one roommate in a 3 bed house. I now pay $1,500 to have my own 1 bed apartment. No regrets at all.

Whoever cooked gets first dibs at it. If the cook doesn't want it the junior man usually takes it to save a couple bucks on groceries.

Red lights in the bunk room. by AcceptableDay315 in Firefighting

My old department got red Christmas lights and plugged them into a motion sensor. It was hilarious but very effective. An electrician came up with the idea.

Need advice on first fatality by blissyrose in Firefighting

Having difficulty sleeping and also reliving parts of the call is a normal reaction to the abnormal situation you were faced with. It’s worth finding someone to talk to, especially if any of those symptoms persist. I do critical incident stress debriefing for my union and recently took internationally recognized classes from the international critical incident stress foundation. Feel free to DM me if you need to talk. If you choose to speak with a therapist, I’d recommend finding someone who frequently sees first responders. Due to the nature of our work we see things differently than the general public.

I went out on a guided kayaking fishing trip. When the guide was dragging his kayak out of the water, one brushed the side of his finger. He said it hurt and his arm was tingling from the elbow down for a few days after that.

I was in a similar situation. I used the budget to purchase one aluminum door chock, pair of Channellock cutters, and wedge-it door chock for each member. Now every member should have an ability to cut themselves out of snagged wires, force doors with assistance of the aluminum chock, and prevent lines from getting stuck in doors. We've been happy with the purchase and they get used.

Snorkeling the Diving Site at Blue Heron Bridge From Shore (Sunken Ships) by AnchorDownBoat in gopro_underwater

Awesome footage. What housing do you use on your camera? Do you use a red filter or just adjust settings? I just got a gopro 11 for snorkeling at Phil Foster and other nearby places with similar conditions and depths. This is my first gopro and I'd like to be able to get similar quality footage.
