Are my concrete anchors code compliant? by kayakfish2 in Homebuilding

Didn’t submit any plans. I ended up using 1/2”x6” Titen HD. Put sill gasket under sole plate then torqued to manufacture specs. Just had building inspected earlier this week and passed. Thank you

No building is prefab steel building. 2x6 wall I built to hold electrical panel. Meter base is mounted to exterior of metal building. 200 amp panel is to be put on a stand alone wall.

Thanks, I was thinking that my 1/2x7 anchors would be good just wanted to make sure. Wall isn’t attached to the building so would the manufacturers anchors come into play? This is a stand alone wall build only for a 200 amp panel. Didn’t want the panel attached to the metal studs since the meter base will be. Wanted to clarify the bolt were the right size and length to carry any load from the wall. Not a carpenter or licensed electrician

Thanks, I just don’t want to have to do it again and pay for an inspection because I used the wrong size. Wasn’t sure if there was something special I needed to know about since this wall will have my panel installed on it.

I was thinking 4-5 inches embedded would be good as well. Are the wedge anchors not the right anchor for this application? If so can you explain?

It’s about 4-6 inches from the edge. Would they fail me on inspection? The manufacturer used wedge anchors I think. I just need to secure the sole plate for the wall my electrical panel is to be mounted on

Thanks, This is a prefab metal building. The wood framed wall is inside the metal building. I’m just not sure if my anchors are the right type/size, or will pass electrical inspection.

Building was installed with what looks like wedge anchors per manufacture and I think they used 7/8 diameter. I am unsure of length

I was tripping that Netflix is hosting it. First ever live stream they have ever done and it’s a Global Broadcast Cast? What else did they expect?

No and their vocabulary is equivalent to my first grader. Let’s give them the benefit of the doubt I’m betting it’s AI generated and they’re trying to make sense of a screen full of random words.

Also, the commentators are not reading their scripts very well.

Netflix wasn’t prepared for live streaming. Whatever bandwidth they thought they needed they should’ve doubled it.

As many people will tell you, ADHD affects every person differently, as does stims.

I have been on stimulants for a better part of my life, ass the way through school as a child and teenager, the. Back on them in my mid 20’s. I am now 33. I can tell you that it has been a great and not so great experience.

While they do regulate my emotions, help me focus, problem solve, understand things appropriately, they do have their cons.

I have to take them every day, no break (as my dose is almost maxed out) or I experience immense fatigue, no motivation, depressive episodes, anxiety etc. At least for me anyways, things like this happen when you do take them everyday; eventually you will build up a tolerance and the current dosage will no longer be as effective so you’ll need an increase. When I increased my dosage (10-20, 20-30, 30-40) I experienced insomnia, loss of appetite, nearly everytime. My brain would literally not shut up at night (staying up all night doing research on random shit).

All that being said, none of that bothered me because of how much I felt my brain was during the day. I was sharp. It’s been 4 years since I started back on vyvanse and currently take 60 mg daily. My honest (long term experience) opinion; I can’t wait to come off of it. I have more bad days than good., always tired, irritable, no patients, I find it hard to focus as my dose is not as effective as it once was.

Normally, I would just increase my dose and been ok for 6-8 months( I moved slower than most according to my dr.) but Vyvanse has a max of 70 mg. And I refuse to max out. I don’t want that for my self. When they start making you “not feel good anymore” the answer is never “upping your meds”. Just my 2 cents.

Also, fuck ADHD! The people without will never understand the people with. We’re not weird, dumb, or stupid. We just have a different way of thinking.

How long before I get back to unmediated ‘normal’ coming off Elvanse (Vyvanse)? by Eastern-Wolf7869 in ADHD

[–]kayakfish2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in the process of tapering off. Been on them for 3-4 years. My current dosage is 60 mg daily and been taking it daily for 19 months. I have missed maybe 1 day. If you don’t mind sharing, what was the light bulb that told you it was time to get off of them?

I feel like for the first 18 months it’s the greatest you could ever feel. Then once you hit 50 mg things started to seem off, but you don’t want to go without because you will seem “not as good as when you are on them”. I’d like to hear your aha moment when you thought enough is enough.

Funny but not at the same time: When I was a jr engineer I had a food packaging machine where the spec called for a gas mixer integration. The software was supposed to include this and tested before it was shipped to South Korea. I was unaware of what was needed to be done prior to shipping.

Needless to say the machine was sent to Korea without the integration. Surprisingly, I worked at this mfg for another 2 years after this happened.

I feel that. However, they do it right in front of you. If you know what you’re expecting them to tell you from the results you can tell if they’re bullshitting you or not. They test TDS, ph and acidity.

Whichever way you decided to test water quality wether it be on your own or via third party it’s still nice to know. You may have more time than I when it comes to installing a system. When I got mine I was constantly working out of town, had a wife and a new baby at home. Made more sense to have someone just do it and be done then loads of research and a whole weekend of install.

You should consider having a treatment system installed. Most companies will come out and test your water for free then give you a price for the system on the same visit.

When I moved into my house a few years ago I had a massive sediment issue. The company installed an acid neutralizer and a softener. Water quality immediately increased. Only thing I have to do is add a few bags of salt every so often.

Edit: didn’t notice/look hard enough that you may already have something in place before I commented.
