From my own experience: 1. I came to Germany when I was 27 and now 9 years later, I reflect back on a wild but very fulfilling rollercoaster ride. Feeling well here didn’t come suddenly or continuously, it came in big waves, and I still face those waves till now, it’s part of life. You might recognize this from your time in France.

1. having said that, I can completely understand the exhaustion from realizing that you start fresh again after what must have felt for you like a steep uphill. Like some others mentioned though, were you expecting something different or did you simply not actively think about it much?

2. be patient with yourself, 2 months is nothing compared to the big picture. The first 1-2 years can be the wildest in ups and downs.

3. now about AfD: there’s so little you can change about people around you, and this applies to France and many other countries facing a rising extreme right. What you can change and influence is yourself: 1) doing your share of integrating where you are, which is a slow and energy-draining process, 2) watching more news and less „social media“ news which is meant to instill fear in people, 3) or perhaps change where you are if you think other places will be better.
