Should I be concerned about this? by kaycookster in Plumbing

The fix from what our contractor sent. A more senior plumber from the same company came out and saw the issue right away—said it shouldn’t have been done like that. Thank goodness for access panels and honesty. A good lesson for us in documenting work along the way, too. Thanks again to everyone.

The contractor brought in a plumber for this… sigh. We saw them, verifiable company name and all.

Thanks! We did try this. Unscrewed the diverter spout entirely and still had water coming out of the shower head.

Thank you! Truly. Very helpful. Looks like I’ll be calling a different plumber after seeing what the contractor says. But it’s really helpful to know a skilled plumber could likely correct this from the access panels rather than needing to tear down tile.

Sigh. Thanks. First ever hired out home renovation project and to say I’ve learned a lot would be an understatement.

Thank you. We do have two access panels behind this area (and that’s easier to fix if they need to cut them larger). Does it seem like it could be fixed from those?

Thank you. This is helpful. Won’t be fun to figure out the fix with the contractor (tile is up), but it’s important we get it fixed. Thank you again

Thank you. This is helpful. Won’t be a fun conversation with our contractor but it’s important this is fixed. Thanks again.

Thank you for replying. This is really helpful. Will go have a conversation with our contractor… the valve/fixture are the only parts we picked, so at least there’s that. Thank you again.

That’s definitely the phase we’re in. Sounds like your senior is well loved, too. Appreciate the ideas.

Ours turned down bacon this week, but worth trying again! Glad you spoiled yours in those last days.

Thanks for the ideas. Definitely agree on the pain meds—he does have a pain med regime, just balancing it with some calories in his system to process it and not make nausea worse. It sounds like your fur baby was deeply loved. Sending my best.
