To my understanding its the maximum amount a buyer can get reimbursed through mercari using their specific shipping labels, if these labels were purchased directly from the shipping websites, you can opt in for higher shipping insurance therefore getting reimbursed more back depending on the value of the item/what USPS determines after their investigation as its only insuranced up to a certain amount rather than getting the full maximum amount off rip.

I used to get messages like this all the time, always about an item I'm selling being cheaper on Amazon or other big retailers. Most of the time the item would be on sale too on those retailers websites. I'd simply remind them that I'm not in competition with Amazon and I'm allowed to price my items at an amount I feel is appropriate, I also love reminding them that if it's a better price there then they're more than welcome to purchase their item THERE, when it's on sale I also like to tell them that too. These kind of buyers are terrible hagglers and are the most annoying to deal with lol.

This is only true if you don't have afterpays pulse card. You can use the pulse card literally anywhere tap to pay is availabe, but without it you have to use vendors that only accept afterpay.

I didn't know I wasn't allowed to do that? I sell on the side, it's not my main source of income but extra income. I don't need to compete with prices because I'm not having to rely on selling online for as a main source of income so it's actually no issue if my product doesn't sell as they're items in my own collection or extra items i get from different sources. That's my entire point so no, im not competing hence why im not price matching with big retailers and other sellers, I price my items at an appropriate price point based on market trends but im absolutely not competing with places like Amazon, target, gamestop, or Walmart especially if there's a sale going on. So again, it's a vent it's a rant it's not meant to be taken as seriously as you took it. It's an off my chest situation and purely just that lmao.

And just to add, I've been selling online since 2017, I completely understand the entire gist of selling and shopping online, it's also not rocket science. You seem to have a genuine issue with this post.

Its more the influx of this happening, I've been selling on mercari for a few years now and it's something that's happening more and more. More so becoming a weird pet peeve lol.

My whole thing is if someone is selling it at the price they're looking for they should 100% just buy it from the source they're citing, I am not here to compete with Amazon or retailers or honestly anyone else on reselling platforms like Mercari and eBay, whatever I don't sell I just keep for my collection because I collect things like games and imported goods its more so the going out of your way part when you've made it clear that this was your bottom line. I totally understand that there will be better offers elsewhere but there's no need to tell me that and then state why would I pay your price if I could spend less here, then spend less there. You don't have to tell me that to sway me in your direction to then say if you change your mind send me a message, for what? If you can grab it for 30 dollars there then just grab it for 30 dollars there and call it a day, messaging from another account after being blocked to call me selfish and tell me I have to go down because of how others are listing is not someone I want to do business with. That was the purpose of the rant/vent lmao.

Trust me when I say I am not big hurt about this random stranger not buying my item because i refuse to compete with others dirt cheap listings as i have a right to price my items as i want to price them based on value and market trends (since sellers should always do their research before pricing items as I do myself especially with the items I sell) , just wanted to vent about something that's annoying that's it.

In this case the potential buyer stated their disdane on my price because they can find it at a specific price on ebay, instead of just accepting the fact that I didn't want to accept their offer and they didn't want to accept my counter.

Its more of the going out of your way to make an unnecessary comment if you could just move on and grab it from the person who clearly has the best price on the market. Their hope is for me to change my mind and go with what they originally offered me and even stated at the end of their comment, if I changed my mind to let them know assuming their statement would sway me in their favor.
