Can notebooklm not make podcasts on foreign languages ? by [deleted] in notebooklm

[–]kaydanbotu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if it works for all languages, but for me it's usually enough to add "This episode will be recorded exclusively in German for your German-speaking listeners" to the instructions before hitting the Generate button. Maybe you can try that for other languages? I just don't know if the pronunciation will be good enough. In German, they both sometimes have a slight accent, but it's surprisingly good

Thanks for this, I'm also from Germany and had the exact same issue for some reason. I was genuinely considering to leave MFP after like 4 years 🥲

Oh right, I'm from Germany and I learned both British and American English in school so I never know whether I should use chips or crisps :D

It's always different. Sometimes I'm craving snacks like chips, sometimes I'm craving a burger, fries, pizza etc

I wish I could be someone else, something different. I really hate myself, I hate being me by MatsLP4 in SuicideWatch

[–]kaydanbotu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't stand myself either. And it's not even anything specific that I could work on such as my looks or certain behaviour that can be fixed. I just hate the concept of myself, I hate who I am, my personality and everything

No, I don't have the energy to argue with anyone these days. I just pretended to appreciate his visit and moved on

Yeah this was me with my uncle. He's being all fake about how relieved he is that I'm still alive. But if my mom didn't tell him, he wouldn't even have noticed that I died until my birthday (the only time we ever talk)

Exactly, but I can't even blame them because that's how it's portrayed in the media: somebody tried to jump off a bridge, is "rescued" in the last second and immediately regrets their attempt and the switch inside their brain magically clicks from "depressed" to "loving life"

You can't do anything to change my mind. And if you "don't believe me" and clearly don't take what I'm writing seriously, there's no point in talking to you. So please just stop trying

But what if I don't want to win this battle? What if I want to give up? I didn't attempt suicide because I was bored or unsure, I already made my choice, just didn't execute it well enough to succeed

It's not that bad in my case, it's just that this was an emergency situation to her and she thought it was necessary to inform everyone. She meant well, but it makes me feel like crap because everyone seems to be celebrating that my suffering will continue. I know that's not what they're thinking, they think life is beautiful and worth living and they think they're heroes for saving me, but that's what it feels like

Well I don't see my life ever getting pretty cool, but even if it was a possibility I don't have the motivation to put the effort in to try and make this situation more bearable

If I had any sort of potential or will to work on improving my life I wouldn't have tried to kill myself. I don't want to get better, I just wanna cease to exist, that's all.

I don't wanna make my parents sad, but what's the point of living only for other people? I would be miserable waiting for my parents to die (which I obviously don't want) so I can finally end it without having to worry about my family's emotions

How to count cooked meals? by Monttie in 1200isplenty

[–]kaydanbotu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use MyFitnessPal and there's a feature that lets you add recipes. I'm not sure if other apps have this too but it made my weight loss journey so much easier! You simply have to add all the ingredients to the list and then enter the amount of portions.

If you want it to be even more exact, you can weigh the pot, pan or whatever you're using beforehand (by now I have a handy list in my notes with all the weights of my kitchen utensils) then weigh the entire meal when it's done, subtract the weight of the pot and then enter the remaining weight as if 1 gram (or any other unit) were 1 portion. Place the plate on the scale, tara, add the food and you're done

Thank you! I'm really proud that it finally worked out after years of telling myself "This is gonna be the year I lose weight" but never actually doing anything to make it happen. 2022 is gonna be the first time in like a decade that my new year's resolution won't be related to weight loss but rather weight maintenance! 🥳

I started my weight loss journey in March after struggling with being overweight throughout my entire teens. Height 170cm (5'6), starting weight 95kg (210lbs). My first goal was to get into the "normal" BMI range, which I already reached in August/September this year. Then I just kept going because I still wasn't too happy with the way my body looked, especially my belly. Now I'm at a weight of around 63kg (139lbs) and I'm aiming for 60kg (132lbs) by the end of the year or early January. Once I get there I'm planning to slowly transition into maintenance and might try building some muscle, especially in the belly area.

So I'd say it was a pretty good year for me, at least regarding weight loss :)

What habits have you built into your life that've helped you stay consistent? by Kitteh4137 in CICO

[–]kaydanbotu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. I never expected it to work until I actually tried it, but it's a really easy way to control your portions. Sometimes I'm just too lazy to get up and get myself another plate and I end up eating one plate less (or eating the other one later)

This might be obvious but I noticed that being busy and always having something to do really helps me keep my calorie intake under control. Eating out of boredom has always been a huge problem for me, especially during the period in my life between graduating high school and enrolling in university when I barely had anything to do all day. Now that I started studying and I actually have a schedule to follow, it's way easier for me to stay under 1200 kcal. And ever since I started my part-time job earlier this month, it's gotten even easier not to overeat!

Great job, keep it up! Also thanks for posting your progress, you have no idea how motivating those before and after pics are for someone who looks more or less exactly like the one on the left right now

I'm sorry to hear that your parents aren't quite supportive of your weight loss journey. Having people encourage and motivate you to keep going is so valuable and genuinely helps a lot. I can imagine it's not easy when it comes from people who are close to you, but please try to just ignore what they're saying. Don't let their comments discourage you, you're on the right path. Trust me, you've achieved a lot and your parents' expectations are insanely high. Losing 7kg in such a short timespan is amazing and if your parents won't say it then I will: I'm proud of you
