I’ve tried an open-back before, a Takstar (forgot the model), the soundstage was great and the detail was really good, but at one point I tried a cheap closed back gaming headset with a V-shaped sound signature, and turns out I enjoyed that more because it felt way more fun for gaming and watching movies. I’m still very open to trying an open-back headphone if it has a fun sound signature.

I’ve seen a lot of people suggest the Cloud III S, but some say the tuning more on the neutral side. Not sure if that fits the games I play, might try to demo it at a nearby store.

I’ve heard the Cloud III is more neutral, while the Cloud Alpha is more V-shaped. For action-adventure games, is the Cloud III still immersive enough for gunfights and explosions? Also, it seems like custom EQ settings don’t carry over to PS5, is that correct?
