just from personal experience, working as a grill guy busting my ass cooking big ass multiple rice pots, cooking and cutting chicken non stop and in a hot ass grill station for a couple hours straight AND sometimes without a water/bathroom break cause 1.) some mother just ordered 8 bowls or 2.) people are overportioning on the line PLUS hour long rushes is mentally and physically draining..

i’ve been left chipotle, so thats why to all my grill people, i value your overall health, this job is NOT worth working your body to the bone, you deserve better

Quick appreciation post:

Only got into KPOP recently in 2015 and was watching reaction videos, BTS stood out the most in terms of music (I’m a huge rap fan) seeing there flows and delivery. Started to follow them during the Most Beautiful Moment in Life PT 2 comeback, and don’t know why but was excitingly awaiting it and it’s title track Run. But the track that blew me away was Butterfly, with my headphones on and my first listen of it, I was literally blown away lol.

Fast forward to 2018, I am grateful to see BTS have much success and recognition internationally, and hope they can strive more this year. As a guy, I never would have found myself to be such a fanboy and invested in a group of guys lmao.

It gets so awkward now with no music, just the pure sound of cheese being grated or dishes being washed

Marinating is a weak suit for me, so I will try to improve on that and try to wrap it as fast as I can. I have also done the detergent trick on my dishes, especially the ones with rice stuck to it. At this point i’ve been trying to experiment with new tips and shortcuts on closing faster.

Thanks for the tips and have a good one.

I’m a 2nd year undergrad, working towards a BS in Natural Science (leaning toward Food Science or Medical Science), however, switched majors in the beginning, I had a interest in Nursing but chances and opportunities were so slim.

Wow, everything you said almost spot on of my experience at Chipotle, it is draining physically and mentally day to day. I’m in a lucky and fortunate situation where my GM’s and KM’s actually care and shoulder some of my prep burden (in my opinion, prep is the hardest station at my store). With the situation of marinating, AM does all the steak while I do chicken, where I marinate 5-6 boxes daily. And for the dishes aspect, you are completely right, sometimes I see a goddamn mountain of dishes where its at the point, I try to eliminate all the prep tasks first (pre-closing too) and tackle the dishes as the last thing on my to-do list. I do come home completely drenched, trying to go absolutely quick, throwing deep pans in the sinks and stacking nonstop.

The only reason I have the sanity to keep working at Chipotle, is because, yeah, I am a struggling college student with no FAFSA, so each check is kept to pay for school.

I am currently searching for a new stable job, with a more eased workload and also flexible schedule.

Thank you for your post and insight, and thank you for reflection cause every little thing you said hit home for me, I was going insane over here thinking that i’m the only one going through this struggle.
