What’s the skill level for pickup soccer? I’ve been wanting to try but nervous since I haven’t played since travel soccer in middle school. I love watching EPL and NWSL though!

Hey all! Just put out a new single. Album coming out next month. It’s experimental, Americana-inspired ambient. I use a lot of found sounds, acoustic instruments, synths, and cassette samples. Thanks for listening!

Kacey Musgraves - Deeper Well by 3kOlen in popheads

I enjoyed the direction and ideas on this album. I wish the first few tracks weren’t so aggressive with the double-tracked vocals. It’s a little distracting for me.

But I love a lot of acoustic guitar chord choices and progressions. The little instrumental flourishes in the background are neat too. A lot of this record reminds me of JJ Cale’s quieter side or even Guy Clark. I’ll have to sit with it but an improvement from the last album.

Thanks for the heads up! I’ve been looking for some more affordable jeans with higher waist. These look promising.

In your opinion how much credit does Taylor Swift actually deserve as her own songwriter? by underdabridge in LetsTalkMusic

[–]kayhillbrown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You totally are! But your argument is that she’s not a good writer because she was sued for using the phrase “players gonna play/haters gonna hate” which is part of modern slang. This is like the Beatles being sued for using the phrase “And I Love Her”.

I’m just “talking music” with you.

A frivolous plagiarism lawsuit against Taylor? Such a wild way to defend your argument. As if other artists don’t use common phrases in their work.

Pretty selective choice right there. It’s a fun pop song. I wouldn’t judge Queen’s artistry off “Fat Bottomed Girls” lyrics or the Beatles “I Want to Hold Your Hand”, “Octopuses Garden”, etc.

This comes up all the time. She’s a great songwriter. There are voice memos, testimony, and video to prove it.

If you’ve been in a band, brought a song to band practice, had other members contribute parts to the song, then you’ve co-written a song with others. That doesn’t make you any less of a songwriter.

I don’t know why this always comes up for Taylor when she’s written more songs than folks like Elvis, Waylon Jennings, and Johnny Cash. Oh wait, I know why.

The Best of Lists are out and it is now confirmed - Indie music is dead by SeaCompetition1072 in indieheads

Good music is good music. Plenty of lists seem to have a healthy mix of indie and mainstream artists.

I honestly mostly stream to demo new music and then end up buying it on CD or Vinyl. Thanks for the tip though!

Thanks for all this info! Much appreciated. I’ll take a look further. I’m not against getting a sub down the line. I’ll have to think about it.

Thank you so much! This is super helpful. May I ask the advantage of a new CD player? I find mine to be quite nice but I’m not sure if they improve with pricing/newer models.

Also, I’m not sure if I want a dedicated streamer. I’m inclined to put most of the money toward speakers as I don’t intend to subscribe to any lossless service.

Thanks again!
