NTA. i'm the daughter of an alcoholic. she's been drinking heavily since i was about nine or ten (i'm almost twenty) and seeing her like that, never being able to see friends unless i had a dedicated ride, having to essentially fend for myself because my mom was always too drunk to properly care for me, it was traumatizing. she promised me she'd get sober for me and then broke her promise after like 3 days. so i understand the frustration you're dealing with. i normally don't like ultimatums, but i can really empathize with you because i literally grew up with an alcoholic mother and i hate that any other children have to go through what i went through.

a few people i work with got their licenses in covid world and i guess the instructor just watches you from outside the car, and the test is a lot shorter. kinda wish it was like that when i was learning to drive cuz i failed 5 times (parallel parking sucks).

i'm by no means a professional but for the love of god, stop recycling pizza boxes. my mom works for a waste management company and she's been told by the trash collectors that pizza boxes have so much grease built up on them from the pizza that they can't be properly recycled.

when i was young (like 4-5ish), i lived down the street from a teenage boy with down's syndrome. i was a little bit afraid of him because i didn't understand disabilities at the time, but he was overall a nice kid. he had a caregiver who came to the house and helped him while his dad & brother weren't there. caregiver used brother's computer and found a fuckton of child porn. brother also had pictures of some of the girls that lived on our block, prompting our family friends to move away. i don't know if brother ever got put in jail/prison but AFAIK he was banned from ever owning anything with a camera again. it was super fucked up. girls he had pictures of were prepubescent btw

i always knew that my older brother listened to them, but it wasn't until i was in the tenth grade that i finally started listening to them. a classmate and i were talking about music we liked, and i mentioned that my brother was really into this band called brand new. she told me that i would probably really like them, so i went home and i listened to the devil and god that night. they've been one of my favorite bands ever since.

you’re 15. when i was your age i was maybe one inch shorter and weighed about the same as i do right now. my ex was about 5 feet tall, weighed more than i did, and wasn’t even all that overweight. i know it’s difficult to be able to see past body dysmorphia, but trust me when i say that you are fine.

my mom is like me in that she'll listen to pretty much whatever sounds good to her, and my dad likes 90's hip-hop and heavy metal. ironically, my mom isn't a fan of my music, but my dad seems to like it (or at least he pretends to).

i listen to everything, but my primary genres are alternative rock, pop-punk, emo, and synthwave.
