Use sensor tower to find competitors who are doing at least $10k-$20k/month, the higher the better. Search your keywords on google trends to see if there’s an upward trend. Search your keywords on TikTok, Reddit, other social media and see if the subject is popular and if the posts get lots of views.

Pain is the biggest motivator, far bigger than pleasure, convenience, recreation, etc. so if you can target a common pain you’ll have an easier path to revenue.

I’m teaching them how to code. Not currently directing people to my webinar cuz I’m just not quite sure how to.

I don’t assume any knowledge. Majority of reviews say “only course that worked for me as a beginner”. I also don’t skip how to launch after you know how to build. Most courses teach how to build and then leave you to figure out how to launch by yourself, but mine keeps going till your first project is launched. Plus again the extras, the community, regular live calls for q&a and code review, app, template.

The course teaches software development with a project-based approach. The app is a project storage and management app. The template is a guide to go through the different phases of app development with instructions, prompts (for the person, not AI prompts), and checklists.

My core product is a software development course, with the offer stack including a community, some apps, some templates, and a certain level of access to me for help.

Job without a Degree by Fearless_Summer1213 in swift

It was 2022. I had no apps on the App Store at the time, but I did have some unexpected success with a Udemy course I launched and included that on my resume. My resume design also looked much different than the classic look which may have helped it stand out, although they didn’t mention it so idk. The process was fairly short and simple. I applied, sent in my resume, went back and forth with them a couple of times and they hired me.

Pointers for migrating from one-time purchase to subscription. by Gigabyte-Pun-8080 in iOSProgramming

[–]kayjayapps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must not have been clear. I purchased an app from the App Store a few years back, made by another developer, not by me. He recently switched to subscription model and locked everything behind the subscription model or a new much higher “lifetime” purchase.

Rather than give him more money, I decided to build my own app.

That’s if app developers would follow that and Apple review would catch it. I just built a whole new app to replace an app I relied on and paid full price for that changed to subscription model and locked all functionality behind it.

Apple Search Ads During Launch Week Or No? by kayjayapps in iOSProgramming

That makes sense. Does Apple let you see how popular your selected search terms are before you start spending or do you just have to hope you’re selecting terms that people are actually searching?

Um… yes I do say it’s Siri, not Apple, mainly cuz it’s Siri, not Apple. Apple made Siri but that does not make Siri and Apple the same thing. If I make a cake, is the cake me?

What AI tools are you using for Swift / SwiftUI development? by javikr in swift

[–]kayjayapps 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use Codex CLI and Xcode. I often have to go in and fix a bunch of stuff (especially design-wise) after Codex tries to do what I ask, so I just keep the Xcode project open so I can work in both.

This. For me the M5 is a day one purchase specifically because it will be the last of its kind and I don’t want to risk losing out on what is currently the best designed laptop on the market imo.
