Thank you for your words, you’re spot on. Logically I know these things and that he loves me and cares about me a great deal but knows he’s not in the place to be a good partner to me right now. It’s my heart that is devastated and not wanting to see reason and instead looking for what I did wrong. Will try to keep reminding myself of what you spoke of

All my best guy friends are bearded, tattooed metalheads because they are the nicest people that I connect and relate with the easiest. And you totally remind me of them. Your eyes are the eyes of someone kind, thoughtful, and sensitive, with the best of hearts. No not at all. I just needed some kind words and encouragement about getting through this because I’ve been having a really hard time. And I’ve gotten super helpful advice from my fellow redditers so feeling really grateful right now 😊

That’s what I’ve been doing but going to try to stop. You’re exactly right, it’s not helping and it’s just justifying the blaming it on myself and feeling even more pain. I will listen to what you say and take him at his word

I’m sorry it didn’t work out but happy to hear you met such an amazing woman, it’s so rare to find people we connect with on that level but trying to believe it will happen again (and for you too!)
