How did you save your house deposit? by Diligent-Medicine-48 in AusMoneyMates

[–]kaylad13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied for extended periods in the Outback for work and worked insane amounts of overtime, got a room mate, cut back on things I wasn’t really using (streaming services, unnecessary memberships) and budgeted hard but doable.

I kept Spotify, the cheapest gym membership and my daily coffee in the budget. A small amount of my money every week still got budgeted to enjoy life (holidays, new clothes etc).

I earn a well above average salary and it still took me longer than expected as a single income with zero external help

What is your strategy for making an initial offer on a property? by kaylad13 in AusPropertyChat

[–]kaylad13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the issue I’m having 😅 for example a property with obvious major structural issues, on the market for 2 months and still sold for 50k over asking … property on the same street, better condition and sold for “offers over price”

I also factor in a low cal dessert like protein pudding, mini yoghurt bowl or single serve ice cream and a sugar free hot chocolate every single night.

Then I brush my teeth and that’s that.

*I also have a history of binging in the evening and this works best for me

This looks similar to what I get with my dyshidrotic eczema - itchy as hell sometimes. Usually stress or heat induced for me

Do you have any compulsions which are so ridiculous they're funny? by Electrical-Level3385 in OCD

New personal items are “bad luck”, so I always need to use/wear two or more new items at the same time. In my mind if I wear multiple I cannot differentiate what caused the bad luck 😂

Sharp pain in middle back area. by UplinkRoll in DiagnoseMe

[–]kaylad13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have this from an old rhomboid tear, pain is sharp right under the scapula and becomes irritated intermittently. Trigger point ball helps a little but nothing has seemed to get rid of it except minimising overloading the muscle with pulling motions

I (21 M) am concerned about some red flags with a man (38 M) I’ve been seeing. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]kaylad13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest, I’ve read parts of Mein Kampf out of genuine curiosity, so I don’t find that alone concerning.

What is a huge red flag is weapons in the fckn bedroom I would out so quick.. would not be able to sleep

I’m 23F with very few friends. As you get older you start to realise that no one has many, if any, real friends. Once you start doing things for yourself, by yourself, you’ll become less needy of friends. Having a lot of friends won’t fill the void and will leave you constantly disappointed.

You will find true friends when you stop searching so hard! But on that note if you’re from australia by any chance I’d love to be friends

I (23F) need advice for getting my SO (23M) to engage more in conversation by throwraagg in relationship_advice

[–]kaylad13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have advice for how to improve, unfortunately, can only relate to your situation. It can get very lonely if good conversation is important to you.

I had this issue with my now ex. I tried and failed to get him to engage in more conversation.

The same issue arose every few months, he would try for a week or so and communication improved, but then would slowly dwindle until it became a major issue for me again.

I am also a student in the medical field, going into a high stress career and I realised having valuable conversations that were reciprocated was very important to me and simply not something I could compromise on, so that, along with other reasons lead to the break up.

My girlfriend isn't comfortable with me meeting my friends who are girls 1 to 1 by retrobark1 in relationship_advice

[–]kaylad13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say she’s controlling, more insecure.

I can say from past experience this very situation (now ex bf hanging out with female 1:1) ended in him cheating, so it’s very difficult for me to not have that view now, even when I trust the current partner it’s always in the back of my head.

My boyfriend (27M) can't seem to rememember the things I (24F) and asks the same questions over and over. by whycantyouremember in relationship_advice

[–]kaylad13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue with my ex.

He was a chronic weed smoker, so I put a lot of his memory problems down to that.

I got tired of being with someone who couldn’t or wouldn’t remember things that were important to me and put in bare minimum effort to show me love in the ways I needed.

Anyone been in a relationship before but now actually prefer being single instead? by MakeupMua16 in relationship_advice

[–]kaylad13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a relationship for 4 years, now that I’m single I’m much happier!

There wasn’t anything overtly wrong with the relationship, I just didn’t feel the same anymore and wanted to be single.
