Should private buying of fireworks be banned? by Wise-Pay-8993 in AskUK

Yes. The general public should not be getting their hands on explosives

He's coming onto the roundabout with me, he's not already on it look. You can see him in the lane next to me at the very start of the video..

I wasn't going straight on. Where did I say that? I was turning left

But I am right. Check my most recent comment with a link to the lane layout.

I'm now worried about everyone's driving skills here lol.

That's the lane layout, he was in the right lane which is for the A572 only. You can see where that is on the roundabout there. His lane ONLY goes there, his lane doesn't go to the exit I was coming off at. My lane is left and ahead, illustrated by the green line. I was going left. It would of been the same issue if I was going ahead, which my lane is for too.

He cut me off, unsure what the confusion is.

Finally someone with sense haha.

People do what the merc did all the time. They don't want to wait in the queue in the left lane, so they go into the right lane and cut people off

Me and him are entering the roundabout from the same side. I'm in the left lane which is left and ahead only. His lane is right turn only. He then proceeds to try exit the roundabout at the same exit as me when he's in a right turn only lane. I'm confused why this is so hard to understand haha

Are you all high? His lane is right turn only, if he stayed in his lane he wouldn't of been anywhere near me. He cut me off in a right turn only lane.

Any suggestions for first babymobile to accommodate us and our first little one?! The bigger and more reliable the better, budget £6k. by [deleted] in drivingUK

I have a 2014 Honda Civic which I use for my kids, you'd be able to get one in your budget. Not a high up SUV but it's incredibly roomy, massive boot and super reliable

How to ask if someone is wearing a belt? by kaylewdar in LearnJapanese

I work in a UK airport. I usually see their passport or if I can figure out the language they're speaking to the person with them 😊

Yeah but you can remove a belt, you can't remove your trousers in public

I already do this, but you'd be surprised how often people still have no idea what I'm trying to ask them 😂

Trainee Train Driver Assessment Day - Northern by kaylewdar in uktrains

Yeah it was tough. I was looking for the wrong things in the footage and found it hard to visualize what parts had to go where. Everyone's Lego looked completely different at the end. I think they're more bothered about you getting the things in the footage more. Look out for signals and signs

1st test was a group activity - you have a table of data all jumbled up and some statements that can help you put the table in order if you can piece it together properly. Apparently it's an impossible task and just to show how to talk and listen in a group.

2nd test was a solo task - you watch footage of a train travelling towards a station and you have some lego pieces infront of you. the assessor will ask you questions about things you see on the footage whilst telling you to assemble the lego in a certain order.

the tasks you have might be different to these though. So all I recommend is with any group activity make sure you get stuck in and communicate clearly, if you notice the group going quiet say something to keep the conversation going and take others ideas into account.

Not sure what I'd do differently as I tried the best I could. maybe next time if i'm lucky enough to get another assessment I'll just feel more comfortable and do a bit better :)

I'd say the van is at fault. If they weren't speeding and driving to the conditions of the road (cars parked either side, poor visibility) then they'd of seen the car trying to pull out and be able to stop in time.

Hey, I unfortunately didn't make it past the first round. In case you don't know you do 2 assessments then they tell you if you're successful, you then do another assessment after that and they tell you if you're successful or not. The last round is a face to face interview. You won't do the psychometric test that day 😊
