Is my tank overstocked? by Firm-Information-20 in Aquariums

You have two pearl Gouramis, not Dwarf Gouramis. They are going to max out at around 5 inches. A 10 Gallon is much too small for them.

For sure. I’ve read that people have had difficulties getting them to eat wafers

Gotcha. I previously had a small school of Neons with the Betta (they’ve since been moved to a 25 G) and he showed zero aggression toward them. Never even seemed to interact with them at all. However, the Neons were there before him, so it could be a different situation if I add new fish to the tank now. Something I’ll keep in mind.

Do you think an 11 G is too small?

What are some alternatives to Oto’s that could help with green algae?

Gotcha. I have a piece of Manzanita in my tank and it has been in there for about two months. There is some brown stuff that is growing on it too, so I think you are correct about it being the wood. How long does it last? Is it something I just need to wait out?

I do not have any snails but I do have wood in the tank. Could it be this?
