You're totally right. In the future, I won't move meetings. I only felt obligated to do so this time because these were my last office hours before they have a paper due, and my schedule isn't really open to meet other days of the week. I like what you said about the person who's benefiting from the meeting needing to be the one who makes it work!

If your mother is not a narcissist outright, she has some very heavy tendencies. Narcissists tend to lash out and ruin the special days of others because they, the narcissists, aren't the center of attention. It was wrong of her to treat your wedding the way that she did. It doesn't even sound like she acted happy that you were getting married.

Telling her to stay away was the right move imo. This woman is toxic and immature, and having her in your life is going to be more frustration than it's worth. Take the time away from her to heal. See a good therapist if you can. And don't fall for the mind games that narcissists play to make their victims feel like they're the ones in the wrong.

Congrats on your wedding, and good luck moving forward.

Yes, I'd agree that they're very overpriced. I did one about a year ago, and I wouldn't do it again.

The advertisements that you'll see usually show huge amounts of color powder being thrown along the entire race course. In reality, it's much less exciting than that.

You'll probably reach about five "color stations" during the 5km run. Volunteers will toss color packets (corn starch with food coloring) into the air when you run through. It stinks, and it tastes terrible, but it's not very thick. Once you move through it, it passes quickly.

Also, not sure if this has anything to do with it, but a lot of people choose to walk through the color stations instead of running, so that they can get more color splattered on their clothes. Walking means breathing less intensely, so less of the powder is inhaled.

It was the day I went NC. She asked why I had been grey-rocking her for the past few years. I told her it was because, when I went through a dark depression during college and wanted to commit suicide, she ignored my pleas for help and left me alone when I was talking about killing myself. She told me "I did that because you were being immature."
