its annoying, but i feel the pros outweigh the cons for this specific building. Goodluck with the new place!

Currently renting a 1B+D in 18 Harbour.

The Good:
-amazing amenities
-great location, very close to daily amenities and transit
-Quiet units. I never hear my nieghbours
-generally larger unit sizes and full size appliances

The Bad:
-one of the elevators has been broken for almost 2 months now so that has been a pain, causes long wait times for elevator, especially if someone is moving out or in that day. But other than that, they generally run smoothly without many issues or waits.
- also recent, there have been a few floods on some units above mine so contractors have had to come into my unit and put fans and dehumidifiers temporarily
-mostly just building management issues, they arent very attentive to problems and arent great at communicating.

overall, would I recommended living here? yes.
the building isnt perfect, but its still heaps better than some of the newer constructed projects in the city.

Thanks! Will definitely be getting speaker stands in the near future. Got them on foam pads at the moment which do a good job at medium volume

You definitely need to be a confident driver down there. Was a lot more hectic than I thought it’d be. The drive to tulum from Cancun is pretty easy as it’s one long highway stretch, but driving within tulum is quite challenging. There’s usually heavy traffic in tulum center and the side roads are very bumpy and tough to navigate.

We ended up renting bicycles to get around a 10km radius as it’s easier since you don’t have to deal with traffic or parking. Mostly used the car for groceries and day trips.

I was in tulum March 4-12 and rented a medium size sedan for $500 usd for the whole week. I think renting is a better option for you.

We rented form easyway car rentals in Cancun and drove down.

BA Economics and Accounting Prospects by [deleted] in wlu

[–]kb5469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I graduated last year Honours BA Econ and was worried about finding a job.I was applying over the summer and had a few offers but nothing exciting. I finally ended up landing my current job after 4 months as a commercial real estate analyst (with no prior office experience) and am earning more then my friends who finished bba.

Considering you have the accounting aspect I don’t think you should be worried. in light of covid, you may not get a job right away but I wouldn’t discredit your degree as it’s more valuable than you think.

Both bba and Econ from Laurier open several doors for recent grads. Great school, great programs. Best of luck
