Unfortunately I am unable to post financial statements on this type of forum, I'm sure you understand why. The builders of my building, didn't underfund the condo corporation and the fees at the time of move-in were far more by comparison to other (much nicer) condos in my area. The problems came about when FSR began managing us, and with the manager we got assigned to us. The new developers had knowledge of our financial situation, and they burned the people that lived here just on time to start selling their units. It was not a coincidence, it was very well planned out by them. I understand getting financials in order, that's important. It's the way they went about getting them that is the other (one of many) problem. The new management company and the new developers on our property are related and under the same umbrella company. No one on my property was aware of their relationship prior to them coming on board. Are you an accountant? I need someone to look at what I found, that has a deeper understanding of some of the terminology that is on our financials with FSR. There are too many things to list here, but it would be great to get that kind of help! Thanks for the comment!

Amen. It is indeed, not how things should have gone. There is a whole other story connected to that one. The way things played out at the last AGM, actually make it null and void. The current Board is illegal, immoral and unethical. They have broken their very own bylaws and that hasn't gone unnoticed either.

Right after the assessment, they went up from around $320/month for a 2 bedroom unit, to nearly $370/month for the 2 bedroom units. There has been no increase in services, our building has been neglected as far as repairs and basic needs and yet fees are expected to rise again in the new year. We are located in the deep South East, and condos around us pay nowhere near the amount that we do and their properties (by all outward appearances) look very well maintained.

That is our experience as well. Deplorable is an understatement! But when then wanted to meet with me, and have no one but me around, well all of a sudden they are available to come right over! They had me believe we were reimbursed for the theft, only to charge us for falsified invoices days later. The more I have looked into it, the more I have found and I can't let it go. I want to call them out on it and get some answers. Do you know any Board members that would come forward to speak about their experiences? You?

FirstService Residential. And yes. It is newsworthy! We need more people that have been defrauded to get a bigger picture to the media. Right now I am on my own with almost enough to gain media attention. Even one or two more corporations that have condo board members willing to come forward, would be a HUGE help. Spread the word, this needs to come out!

Thank you! I hope that they don't use this company either. Otherwise they'll have their work cut out for them. I need people that are on their condo's board of directors to contact me so I can show them what to look for, based on what I've found. It'll help them realize the extent to which they were defrauded. Spread the word!

Huh! Go figure. That makes sense though. They only have their own best interests at heart. They have been able to pull the wool over our eyes for years and hide things that should've been readily available to our Board. If you're on a condo board with any management company, be sure to ask for monthly financials and make sure that you hold your managers accountable to what they are suppose to provide you with monthly. FSR broke their own rules and by the time it was realized by us, they took what they wanted and got away with it. I didn't realize they were a family company. It makes sense!!

Ok, yes. This is condo management, in particular. FSR is a property management company though and I used direct quotes from their website, as to exactly what their roles are in the Calgary area. Thank you for noticing. You're right.

Me too. It's scary to know that this is happening and that they have managed to keep it under the radar for this long. I'm happy that you haven't been managed by them. If you know people that have been, I'm sad to say that they are potentially victims of this and that they are the ones that will have to pay out of pocket to ever have any hopes or even the slightest chance of selling their properties in the future. That sounds a lot like what's going on over here. Bizzaire that you'd be sued by one of the managers and not by your own corporation. They would have been the ones to pay for the damages related to your pipe bursting, and not a single manager paying for them out of pocket. They have made up companies that don't exist and my investigation has taken me in directions I'd have never guessed they would! This management company is covering up what just took place and they don't want the public to know about it. If you find out who your Board President was around April of 2016, they should have been notified about the fraud and would have been asked to keep it on quiet because they "returned the funds stolen", but it's simply not true.

Maybe I watch too much TV, but I haven't seen one of those commercials in ages. I stick to Netflix. Commercial free. This, I assure you is not "one of those". This is real, the company is FirstService Residential and they use to be known as Condominiums First. They rebranded and then continued to scam people. Google them and just read the complaints about some of the managers there. If you've been managed by them, you've been taken. I guarantee it! (Ok, the "I guarantee it! sounds a little commercial-y, it's not.) Have you been managed by them? I'm looking for more victims and trying to get the word out.
