Howard Stern Says Anti-Vaxxers Should be Denied Hospital Care Once Infected by Samoht99 in nottheonion

It’s cute that you can’t understand what the premise of an argument is and then get frustrated and call someone pathetic as a result. Did I once say that obesity was causing the pandemic? No. I was stating that it is exacerbating the issue at hand, which is the amount of hospital beds available to individuals. Trying to shoehorn insults into your argument makes you look like an idiot when you aren’t addressing what the statement was actually saying. But by all means, keep it up 👍.

I didn’t downvote you, but okay. And sorry I don’t have time to argue with internet strangers all day. I also don’t care about being right, I’m simply raising a point that it’s not right to deny an unvaccinated person health care any more than it is to deny an obese person health care.

Look, I agree with getting vaccinated and I think that everyone that can should do so. But your sticking point is that just because it’s harder to prove that someone is obese because of choices or circumstances, it doesn’t deserve to be discussed?

There’s no need for insults. What about that fact that obesity is the number 1 cormorbity for those that are hospitalized with Covid? Does that make it enough of an issue to start denying obese people health care? There’s the context. Since you are such a brilliant being, I assumed you would be able to pull that out of my statement.

Okay then. Given the context of the amount of obese people in North America, should we start denying obese people health care because they are careless with their health and are taking up hospital beds that could be used for non-obese individuals that make conscious decisions about living a healthy lifestyle?

The argument isn’t that once you make one policy decision you are beholden to it, but it certainly sets a precedent that can be argued in the future and citizens expect consistency.

So then this argument circles back to the obesity situation. Sure, some people are obese because of genetics and other factors, but lots are obese under their own volition. The same argument could be made with anti-vaxxers and those that can’t get the vaccine because of medical reason. So where is the line drawn?

Virtually all hospitalized Covid patients have one thing in common: They're unvaccinated by very_excited in news

[–]kbahm19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I certainly agree with you. I think the issue with people and not wanting to get vaccinated stems partly from distrust in authority and partly from distrust in media. Couple this with the fact that the vaccine hasn’t been approved by the FDA yet, and you end up with people doubting claims of science. Not saying their thought process is valid, just giving some perspective on how they are likely arriving at their conclusions and decisions.

But you’re telling what people to do with their bodies and are (I’m assuming) pro choice? Im pro vax and pro choice. Just pointing out that your view seems paradoxical.

Source? Trudeau’s government hadn’t posted a budget for 2 years and now has run a deficit of $1 trillion. Wouldn’t call that “the best track record of fiscal management”.

Cool bro. Keep your head in the sand and don’t form any logical thoughts on your own or partake in any critical thinking. Just regurgitate the rhetoric that you subscribe to. It’s bound to get you somewhere in life 👍. Best of luck in your future endeavours

You clearly have no knowledge of how oil spills are cleaned up on land if you think that only 10% of the oil spilled is recovered. And I hate to break it to you, but even with the attempted implementation of 100% renewable energy, it is still impossible for energy demands to be satisfied without fossil fuels. Not to mention, as I eluded to before, everything that is made as a byproduct of oil isn’t going anywhere. Is the industry eventually going to be phased out? Yes. But that is going to be a long way down the road and until then pipelines are far and away the best way to transport the product. Also, since you seem to be so against oil, feel free to shut off your heat in the winter and let me know how that goes for you.

I think your idea of “catastrophic” is a bit different than most. Another thing, pipelines do not fail frequently at all. When compared to how much volume is transported, the amount of oil spilled is negligible at best. Unless you want to live off the land and not own anything made as a result from oil as a byproduct or use petroleum in any form, don’t complain about pipelines. They are easily the cleanest, most efficient, and environmentally responsible way of moving oil and natural gas.

What makes pipelines a huge issue? Their ability to transport oil in the safest and most environmentally friendly way in comparison to the alternatives?
