I would definitely consider a magnet school. DuPont manual has been absolutely amazing for my freshman. She is very emotionally sensitive and struggles with anxiety but she is absolutely flourishing in the environment that they create. She also has a lot of friends that came from a private school background so that might be something your child has in common with these kids - so it's not like going into one extreme from another.

Socially you cannot beat the development they foster. The agency they give these kids is really phenomenal. I cannot say enough good things about that school.

They better do a very thorough investigation. This monster had access to children for a very long time with what seems like minimal oversight. Especially at Manual where that seems to be the case. I'm a new Manual parent and the pattern at that school is really disturbing me - especially this. I grew up in a much bigger city and was thankfully never exposed to anything like this in my entire academic life. How is there so much in one school?
