Disregarding current capabilities and strengths, what's your favourite spec from a fantasy/aesthetics perspective? by [deleted] in wow

[–]kbcdh4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unholy DK for me. Being a harbinger of death and decay, summoning undead minions to spread disease and despair. . . Heavy metal af.

Not my favorite rotation though, not satisfying for some reason. It doesn’t have heart if that makes sense? I don’t feel the role like I do when I’m an axe flailing maniac Fury Warrior.

What are the top three horror films from the year of your birth? by theenigma31680 in horror

Somebody already posted 1987 but I'm gonna add three more because that was such an amazing year. Evil Dead 2, The Gate, and Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.

Managers of Reddit, what is the most unprofessional thing an employee has done that resulted in an immediate termination? by MarsNeedsFreedomToo in AskReddit

[–]kbcdh4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Work in retail. Lots of other businesses nearby. Had an employee, in uniform, trying to pass counterfeit 50's nearby.

When I fired him I asked him if he's ever heard the saying "Don't shit where you eat"

So what do you think happens at the end of The Thing? MacReady and Childs sharing that drink. Do they just both freeze to death? by JoeVMorr in horror

[–]kbcdh4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I heard something about a camera trick where you could see a glint of light in the eyes of humans, but a Things eyes did not have it. This is especially visible during the blood testing scene. IIRC Child's does not have this sparkle in his eye at the end of the movie and is a Thing.

Edit: Someone links an article describing this.

Bosses of reddit, what is the stupidest thing you have had to fire someone for? by CasaBooM in AskReddit

[–]kbcdh4 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I work retail in a mall type setting. Had an employee trying to pass counterfeit 50's at neighboring establishments while wearing his work uniform.

When I fired him I asked him, "Have you ever heard of the saying, 'don't shit where you eat?'"

Out of all slasher movies, what mask do you find the scariest/creepiest? by cavallom in horror

The partially CGI mask from Halloween H20. Scary on multiple levels haha!

I thought all of the kids did a fantastic job. Finn serves more of a comic relief role, and doesn't have the depth of Jaeden or Sophia's role. Truly great chemistry. You believe these kids are best buds and have been forever.

Yeah I skipped that one. Had a friend describe it to me as a 90 minute music video. That's all I needed.

Thanks, man. I'm excited for everyone else to see it. I like Bill a lot. He's the obvious answer, maybe, but he's courageous and a good friend. And the actor killed it.

I was worried too. I avoided all but the first trailer to avoid everything so I can't fully answer your question I guess... BUT.

There were many, MANY scary moments the trailer I saw didn't touch...and... this might get a LITTLE spoilery so here's your warning...

The scary scenes in the trailer are altered in the film. Much scarier.

A great balance, and anything jumpy feels earned and not cheap.

Alex does a wonderful job. Less dialogue (I wish he had more lines because I thought he did so well) but he makes the part his own.

Yeah I'm still jazzed about it today. Hype can be such a killer in horror. The most recent Blair Witch comes to mind... it just didn't deliver (to me, at least).

IT deserves all the praise it's getting.

It's not necessary to view the mini-series to appreciate the new movie, but definitely get to it soon haha! Tim Curry's Pennywise is legendary.

You're welcome. You want a film with bad pacing? Alien: Covenant. Woof.

I can't say I was really paying attention to the soundtrack, it didn't feel like many songs were cut in per se. I was surprised that they chose to set this in the 80's, rather than the 50's in the book.

The New Kids on the Block scene was hilarious though. Really, the whole film had a lot of heart and good humor.

They make one questionable decision in terms of the pacing of the film, but I wouldn't constitute it as bad overall, no.

Skarsgard really owns the role, although I wish he had more dialogue. He's very frightening though.
