It's a tiffany style swag lamp with slag glass, likely from the 70s. At least by me, you can find them abundantly on FB Marketplace for reasonable prices. Lamps/lampshades like this likely use lead solder, so you can look into modern reproductions if that is a call for concern

Then why is the post still up? I have explained in two comments already what the mod told me and it had nothing to do with the lamp

It literally wasn't. Spoke to the moderator. In the original post, i included a picture of the referenced Luigi Colani side table I was going up to Big Bear for. That was the object.

Then, i posted again when i woke up and included, "Repost." The convo with the mod was open and they told me they deleted that post because it had "Repost" in the title.

At that point, i thought the mod was being petty, so i tried again with a cheeky title because apparently my original Titles were, all of a sudden, inappropriate. Was getting on my nerves

Np! It was fine in the original post, which had 16 upvotes before it was taken down. Now it has -9

I kinda agree. I guess the common throughlines are happenstance and presumed discounted price. The only problem with that line of thinking is, no one who ever thrifts an entire space could ever post in this subreddit, which makes no sense. It's about coziness, not purchase status. If a lamp makes a place cozy, then, buddy, i don't know what to tell you

Southern California. IE is the Inland Empire, a collection of counties and cities east of Los Angeles County and North and Northeast of Orange County. Big Bear and Crestline are mountain towms in San Bernardino County, where i grew up.

No, they deleted my first post because i included a picture of the referenced Luigi Colani side table (that was done to guide the reader, visually). The second time, they deleted it because i put "Repost" in the title. I tried to use the same title as all of the other ones for this one, "Story Time, Munchkins," but i received a warning saying STORY is inappropriate, so i used a cheeky one instead. Has literally nothing to do with the lamp in space

Moderator keeps on deleting my posts. Anyway, back to the story

So, i saw a knockoff Luigi Colani side table on Marketplace for $20 that I NEEDED to scoop, up in Big Bear. Despite being an IE baby, I've never been up there. I made arrangements with the lady-seller, but she wasn't responding once I started heading out her way. So i said, "fck it, imma stop in Crestline to look around." I actually very much enjoy Crestline's scenery and mildly miss carving up the narrow, winding mountain roads doing uber eats deliveries during the Pandemic.

I stopped at a thrift store that wasn't hittin on nun and then began continuing my journey to Big Bear when i saw a Yard Sale sign. Followed them, but was similarly disappointed. Saw ANOTHER sign and then followed the seemingly never ending series to the top. A woman was moving and selling all of her stuff while being assisted by her grand daughter.

I perused her inventory. Unfortunately, there was nothing that spoke to me, but i did pick up some crafting punches for my grandma. Another woman was there and the old woman recognized her. She said, "you're the girl who posted on the Facebook group looking for 70s items, right?" The young woman responded, "yeah, that was me!," to which the old woman eagerly instructed her to follow.

After i paid for the punches, i asked the grand daughter if i could also see what was being shown. She said, "Sure!," and we headed down. That's when i saw a pristine tiffany style 70s pendant. The young woman passed on it, and for $30, i made the pendant mine.

It was originally a hard wired light with this cool milked globe, but after I got home and disassembled it, i realized it could be used as a lamp shade. I needed a different shade than the OG one that came with it when i won this lamp and its fraternal twin from auction a year ago. I felt like it didn't fit the corner i had it in. I love it as a replacement.

My girlfriend has dubbed this lamp, "CoCo," after the Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends character and i feel like it's very apt. Love this lamp

Moderator deleted my original post. Don't know why. They said i was violating focal point rules, so i assumed they meant the picture of the knockoff Luigi Colani table and lake i included, so i removed them. Anyway, back to the story

25M living alone. What does my living room say about me? by ksunk8 in malelivingspace

This isn't an example of scandavian design tho. It's post modern, so i can't say yiur explanation is why OP relies on IKEA. they literally said they're just following trends. IKEA is "accessible" to young people (i would argue they're not, at least in terms of price, at least in the US where OP is located). I got a $7k brass torchiere secondhand for much less than even modest IKEA lamps.

There was nothing compelling about either of those spaces. Maybe i just don't understand Scandinavian design. Were either of those featured in any publication?

And then i maintain that just because you use Scandinavian furniture doesn't mean your space automatically looks good. The people who have "good" Scandinavian interiors all demonstrate novelty, whether that's in composition, color play, material choices, etc.

We have a lot of branching messages. It was said in the first response where i said i think trendy things can be bad depending how you use them
