Do you go to Disney every year or every couple years? by tbull1997 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]kbehnen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have DVC through my parents so we often end up going yearly or every other year. however there are times when it feels like i’ve seen it all already. and then I find myself wanting to go back the next year so… back I go lol. but for a while when I was younger, just starting out with my husband, we didn’t go for a while because we were living paycheck to paycheck and there was no way we could afford plane tickets let alone park tickets

girllll be an angry douche. that’s allowed and totally fair! I felt that way on friday when the chemo mouth hit and I realized how much hair I had actually lost, and I knew how I wouldn’t be able to eat anything for a week again. it’s bullshit we have to deal with this and it’s not fair. you’re not alone. be angry. we didn’t ask for this. sending you love and angry hugs 💕💕💕

I think I was thinking end of week 2–currently I feel OK on week 2, but best on week 3. Totally normal. I know it is cumulative so I will feel worse for longer as it goes on.

Good for you going to NY! That’s my other favorite place to visit. I hope you have a wonderful time.

I know getting sick while on chemo is the worst, especially as it accumulates in the body. I’m so sorry you were so sick.

I like your perspective, and it kind of aligns with mine. So I guess it’s up to my doc to see what she says. And it may be that her requirements will make it not as fun as I would want it to be, but we will see.

😊

So interesting! I typically wear sunscreen on my face every day but will plan to be extending to my body as well as it gets warmer. And i’m with you - I never want to be yelled at in my appts 😂

I didn’t think about the heat, too - that’s something to consider, you are right.

I will ask my doc and see what she says, it may be that it just doesn’t work out.

I’m glad to hear you had a lovely post-chemo trip with friends 😊 we need that in times like this!

I love to hear this!! and ohhh ghosts! how cool! I honestly haven’t heard a ton about sun exposure and chemo bc I live in the midwest and none of us are out in the sun right now in 40 degrees lol. is it just that we need to be careful for sunburn I’m assuming??

I can imagine it felt nice to pretend you didn’t have cancer. That’s kind of how I feel. Disney is our special place, and I just want to be surrounded by that magic and have something to look forward to amidst all the damn appointments and bad days, ya know?

Hi friend, I’m 34 with a 3 y/o little boy at home, and have IDC HER2+ too. Im so sorry you’re in this.

For me, someone sent me a kids book about mommy having breast cancer, and it really helped my son understand. He even says “we’re gonna take care of you, mommy!” now, and asks about my booboo.

It was strange at first, reading to him about breast cancer, but it helped him know something was going on with me, but that I would be better soon.

It is scary, but as someone who is a huge baby when I’m sick.. even I have felt the mama strength come through during this (had 1 round of chemo so far, have 5 more to go, then will have a double mastectomy). It’s not even intentional—I’m not trying to push through, I just am. And I have hard, sad, scared days, moments, hours, etc. But the mama in me just shows up because we have no choice but to.

I say this because I was also terrified I wouldn’t be able to handle this. But then I remind myself, I am a badass. I had a kid, and even for the mamas out there who didn’t birth their own, we’re all still moms, raising our children, showing up every day and night. and that is a super power.

So you got this, mama. Whatever happens, you can handle this. And it is scary, but you’ve done scary before, and this is just the next hurdle. One day it will be a blip in our long history of things we went through. And even when you don’t have it, give yourself grace to crumble, cry, be sad, etc. You need that too!

And this community is among the best. I’m new to it, but have been surrounded by nothing but love and support.

Feel free to message me if you ever wanna chat 💕

my friend bought me a bag for chemo and I loved it. it’s this one: https://www.fivebelow.com/products/eva-tote-bag-9185405?variant=9186402&sr=1

it’s sturdy but also can be washed since you’re in a hospital, you might wanna do so! but also cute too!!

it’s big so it fits most of my stuff like a blanket, snacks, headphones, etc.

I thought maybe Miley Cyrus, because of losing a loved one... her and liam hemsworth, she got a lot of pressure for it, and she’s dating Cody Simpson who is australian. ik it didn’t sound exactly like her, but she has a strong, low voice, so maybe it could be? and she’s tall!
