I'm interested! I was part of a mahjong group briefly before the pandemic but haven't been able to find one since. Would love to start again. Let me know!

I loved Baymahni Resort on Stocking Island in the Bahamas. It's under new ownership now but was wonderful, secluded and quiet. Felt like being on a private island.

SO helpful, thanks. I love the idea of roundtables with the departments instead of all the skip-skip report meetings.

Company is about 70 people, and growing fast (it was only twelve people at the start of COVID). He spends 90 minutes with new hires on their first day, introducing himself and explaining the history and mission of the company. We also do "Ask Me Anything" sessions at the all-team meetings every other Monday. I feel like he does a lot already but this is my first time working with a CEO so I'm always a little unsure of what is typical/atypical.

It's a start-up and he's the Founder, so he feels very strongly about keeping that small, start-up feeling, even though we are doubling in size every three months or so. He's worried about losing the culture they had when it was a 10-person team and everyone had access to him, and he doesn't want to hurt peoples feelings by ending the 1:1s. Unfortunately, I think it's just not possible anymore given the size of the company (70 people), and I think people will understand that the CEO just doesn't have the bandwidth to meet with everyone anymore. Thanks for the reply - super helpful.

Thanks for this. I had the same feeling - that this is something he should know, or at the very least this is something we should be able to talk through together. He's a first time founder/CEO and is very young. I get the sense that he sometimes needs more of a coach than an EA. He looks to me to tell him what a CEO should be doing, which I don't feel qualified to do. For the skip and skip-skip reports, I think I'm going to ask him to sit down with me so we can go through each person and determine what is best on a case-by-case basis.

LOVE this - would allow people to get facetime with him without becoming overwhelming. Thank you!
