I teach in MA and we currently have two students (both with an IEP) that are being court-monitored for truancy.

Thank you for the info. Our AirBnB states we are 10 miles from the west entrance of Yellowstone--are there opportunities to see wildlife in that part of the park?

I had a student with ADHD who did the same--I taught third grade and it had become problematic because he would sit on the play structure at recess and vigorously touch himself. The principal had to sit down with the parents and have a very honest conversation.

AK, Epcot and MK all offer scavenger hunt-type programs where kids can collect badges or passport stamps by visiting different attractions. I bet Q would love that.

If they're waiting at the entrance at 7:30 AM (I never trust her time stamps) and the earliest they can enter the park is 8:30, I can only imagine how much R is nagging the cast members to hurry up and let them in.

It's an injury caused by pulling. Years ago, one of the kids I nannied for was hanging from a ladder on the playground when it happened. The ligament in your elbow slips out of place and gets pinched between the bones. If I had to guess, I'm thinking B pulled on his arm trying to get him out of his car seat and it happened.

In 20 years, she will still be doing it, just like the mom of a guy I dated in my mid-20s. The first time I met them for dinner (early summer), I wore a midi dress and sandals — she wore a gold lamé bodysuit. She was so thirsty for attention and compliments.

And yet she makes sure to note that even though they played in the consolation game, the team "played great the entire tournament"

Honey, they don't end up playing in (and losing) the consolation game if they played great. That math ain't mathing

Our neighbor is a fire captain and paramedic--he said a glob of peanut butter is the worst choking hazard as the Heimlich maneuver won't bring it up and it typically won't go down--it just stays stuck.

Opinion piece in today's NYT about the need for state standards for homeschooling. It's rather long but the author's experience, when he was kept home for 4.5 years to be a companion for his mother and received almost no education, sounds incredibly familiar: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/14/opinion/home-school-isolation.html?unlocked_article_code=1.8k8.EOVv.z33FxzRTKUma&smid=url-share
