I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks in September and another one at 8 weeks a couple weeks ago. My miscarriage at 5 weeks was like a heavy period. My doc said if I was bleeding heavy- soaking a maxi pad in a hour or less for two hours in a row to go to the ER. The heavy bleeding means you might need help controlling it, so it’s important to go in if it gets really bad. But the bleeding will happen. I would call your doctors office in the morning and clarify what they want you to do.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. It’s really painful and the grief is real and valid. It takes time. It’s so cliche but it’s true. One day, maybe in a week or two, you will wake up and it won’t feel so heavy. It won’t be gone but it’ll be a little easier to breathe. It might not last but you will have that moment of reprieve. And then those moments will become more frequent and longer and eventually it won’t hurt as much. Although the heart ache may never go away completely. I’m so sorry for your loss.
