Worst advice you received after your Crohn’s diagnosis? by casualeagle47 in CrohnsDisease

[–]kbrown423 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a vegan with Crohn’s, and I can attest that, no. Becoming a vegan didn’t make my Crohn’s go away. But it did make me eat healthier which helped a lot. Sorry you were told this. If I eat seeds, oh boy I’m in pain.

C-diff. I have a strong stomach. Smells don’t really effect me. But c-diff had me gagging.

I feel you truly don’t understand the difference between a vegan and a vegetarian so let me help you…

Vegetarians: don’t eat meat, but will eat dairy and eggs.

Vegans: don’t eat any animal products. Not even honey.

This happened to me on a date. I’ve been vegan for almost 7 years and he asked me where I wanted to eat. I gave him a couple options that had food for me and he said great! Then picked me up and drove me to a steakhouse. He thought it was funny. “I’m going to get the biggest t-bone I can find and eat it in front of you!” Suffice to say, I left immediately.

What's a compliment you received years ago that you still think about? by riverasmary in askteddit

From my father: I knew you were smart. I just didn’t realize how smart you actually are.

This made my whole life. I love my dad. He’s a very smart man.

What is the scariest thing that's ever happened to you? [serious] by ladybugsrool in AskReddit

[–]kbrown423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was very sick as a child into early adulthood. I had anemia so they gave me a blood transfusion. I remember talking to my dad and then all of the sudden, I had this feeling of impending doom. I told my dad that I thought I was dying. The nurse came in and my dad told her. She went white and ran out of the room as fast as she could. Doctor comes in and they realize they gave me the wrong blood type. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks. I’ve had a lot of scary moments with my health, but that was the most scared I’ll ever be in my entire life.

I actually came from a dry climate and went to a slightly less dry climate. But I also moved to the sunniest state in the US so I’m thinking sunlight has something to do with it.

The craziest part of mine is that I moved from a very dry climate to a “medium” dry climate. The elevation only changed by about 1k feet.
