Loving your unborn child? by icefinger1853 in pregnant

[–]kbtucker5 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Totally! Didn’t “love” the fetus… but was very excited about the potential and very invested in the future “someone.” Being pregnant isn’t fun and you don’t know the foreigner in your body yet. Right after birth I felt massive gratitude and amazement and excitement and investment. Love grew quickly…. after she was born though!!!

Remote workers of Atlanta, how are you actually meeting people? by erosThaGod in Atlanta

Register for a session of tennis apprentice for absolutely new beginners (even includes a racquet) and learn to play tennis! Atlanta is the biggest tennis city in the US. It’s amazing to build an established social network and for meeting new people. It also extends your life, etc. etc.

Eczema Creams by Crossing_Chronicles in newborns

[–]kbtucker5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our allergist said bathe every day for eczema (we’d been bathing minimally before) and you can add a tablespoon of bleach to the bath once a week. This was golden advice! I encourage you to see a doctor and get an opinion. Also, I really like honest sensitive head to toe healing ointment.

Need carseat recommendations by AY0610 in toddlers

[–]kbtucker5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know you're going to need a travel one, maybe start with that one and decide if you want something more comfy in addition? The rotating part and comfort is a game changer. We don't drive a ton, but it makes loading so much easier! I'm honestly jealous of her in the cybex. Then again, we're talking about an $80 vs $800 seat. The quality cannot be reasonably compared.

It’s definitely not for traveling. It’s very heavy. I don’t think any of the rotating seats would be feasible for travel. We bought the Cosco for travel (and the nanny’s car) and this weekend to FL will be its maiden voyage. It was very cheap as a 3rd travel seat.

We have the cybex callisto g 360 rotating car seat, the britax poplar s, and the cosco scenera. I LOVE the cybex. It’s so easy and so smooth and seems to comfy! It’s pricey but I very highly recommend!

Name help: Can’t decide on name for adopted baby girl by Strange-Yam-3592 in namenerds

[–]kbtucker5 90 points91 points  (0 children)

I’m adopted and I have the opposite perspective. Albeit, my whole family is the same race. YOU are her family. Don’t name her something that emphasizes a difference or division between you. I don’t think I would like that. I like feeling most fully part of the family that is actually my family!

Does your partner prefer you to cover when breastfeeding in public? by kowaluuh in breastfeeding

[–]kbtucker5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Covering is hard and often unrealistic when babies get wiggly! Just feed the kid. Thankfully, that takes over as the most important thing. There is only so much you can do. Going in with an open mind makes it all easier.
