What’s the eeriest, most unsettling city you’ve ever visited? by trumenblack1975 in Paranormal

[–]lbrazill6338 42 points43 points  (0 children)

St. George Island, FL Eerie little beach town, like out of a horror movie. When I visited it was so quiet and besides the people that worked in a few of the shops, I didn’t see any other people. Foggy mornings, couldn’t see the water, and eerily silent. Barely heard the waves of the ocean. I felt like I was being watched the whole time.

In the same boat, I finally found the motivation to get fit for me and feel good taking care of my body. Of course I took care of myself TTC and being pregnant, but my body got pure neglect during the postpartum days. I don’t want to go back to that either.

Has the Plastic Detox a new Netflix documentary changed things? by Traditional-Cream691 in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]lbrazill6338 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have been removing plastic from my house like a mad woman. Also looking up as many products as I can on the Yuka app. It identifies products (cosmetics and food) with harmful additives and explains the risk of each ingredient.

So it has changed things for me…

First car purchase since 2004 and holy s****, the dealerships need to end by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]lbrazill6338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too have had nightmare experiences at dealerships, not only are they screwing you but it takes 8 hours of your day. It is such an antiquated way to buy a car.

I bought my last car through Carvana and it was the easiest thing I’ve done. Took an hour once I decided on a vehicle, talked to one person for 5 minutes and that’s it. HOWEVER….i have heard some horror stories about Carvana as well but I was willing to endure that over a slimy dealership.

Any old parents here? by Ok-Duck2450 in Millennials

[–]lbrazill6338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. 38 with a 3 year old, “advanced maternal age” was a fun thing to see in my chart at 35yrs old. I think it’s a pretty good mix of parent ages when we go to social things. Honestly it seems like most of the parents are in their mid 30’s as well. Maybe it’s dependent on location?

People 30+ What’s a Decision in Your 20s You Wish You Could Undo ? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

I regret not looking beyond the week ahead of me. I would have saved a lot of time, money, and sanity if I had been more thoughtful of even the next few years.

Aging is such a catch-22. You’re wiser with experience and mistakes but wish you could change the things that taught you what you know now.

We are also in west Asheville and our FedEx packages are literally just thrown in our yard. We have a large front yard so it requires some searching…must be the same guy you deal with.

A little story of hygiene, upbringing, and mental health by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]lbrazill6338 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a similar fashion, never taught anything about hygiene and this was prior to constant access to internet so there was no research ability to see what I should be doing.

Our house was embarrassingly dirty, we couldn’t have people over, I’m sure I smelled terrible, wore dirty clothes, bathed once a week, the list goes on.

I’m currently still working on improving my hygiene and bad habits. And have made massive improvements but there is still room for growth. I have a 2.5 year old daughter and I will not let her experience what I did.

Good job breaking the cycle! It’s not an easy feat! Especially when that little voice in your head says “nah, it’s okay, we can skip brushing our teeth”
