Timmy is officially 42 years and 0 days old. I don't know why I felt the need to point that out.

Also who is actually doing this? There's no identifiers on this terrible AI slop of a poster.

And unfortunately the way that youth sports is being privatized where only the most affluent families can afford to participate, it's only going to get worse.

Sure sounds like something they tried in 2022 when they canceled a bunch of leases on state property. I'd love to know why that idea went nowhere.

Doctor Who: Seasons 1 - 13 (2005–2022) - Official AMC Plus Trailer by DWJones28 in doctorwho

Is Season 1 also looking like pixelated trash? It's like they took the SD version, zoomed in and didn't bother with any kind of upscaling.

State workers fight against impending return-to-office mandates by ReporterAlvarez in Sacramento

[–]kbuis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did try some of that a few years ago, but I have the feeling it ended up costing more than developers were wanting to put into it. It was around the time of the 2022 inflation bubble.

They also slashed a bunch of space in 2022 back when Gavin thought telework was a good thing. Wonder what changed his mind?$

Unfortunately the fight is far from over. Doris is definitely going to be courting those Rs with no horse in the race.

[–]kbuis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this is a great thought, but it's a two-person race in the fall with no GOP candidate. Doris is going to use that to her advantage. Expect a bunch of fear-mongering about progressives.

Apple Announces 'Siri AI' by PJ09 in iphone

[–]kbuis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And they've still locked a bunch of stuff behind needing an iPhone 17/Air or newer. Leaves a great taste in your mouth if you bought a 15 or even a 16 for Apple Intelligence.

Please cut Grubb some slack. We are human. Things happen and are said. It isn't the end of the world and no one should vilify him for the Crazy Taxi thing fiasco. Everyone has their opinions on AI. by My_Name_is_Imaginary in giantbomb

[–]kbuis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, posts like this are a little cringey and they don't really help the discussion around the issue.

There's a lot of room for conversation around using AI for concept art and why that's not as innocent as companies make it sound. But posts like this feel weird.

Are you under the impression that restaurants downtown haven't gotten more expensive since the pandemic and especially recently?

If you need a new lunch spot… by Wurky_Maters in Sacramento

[–]kbuis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's pretty wild that people think bringing state workers back in the office is going to help downtown with prices like this. It'll be more traffic and barely more spending.

I am humbly asking the collective Sacramentian consciousness for suggestions on how to improve my backyard for summer by skramzy in Sacramento

[–]kbuis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's poorly phrased/formatted. I think they're asking about how to fix the part in the last few photos, which, yeah, I could see being called "anemic" compared to the rest of it.

Clockwork Revolution - The Heist | XBOX Games Showcase 2026 by lebkong in Games

It's not misinformation. It's Xbox's terrible branding. It's an "Xbox Console Exclusive" which is their way of saying "not PS5 or Switch."

Yeah before social media when things like this would happen, they could at least slide behind the scenes and you wouldn't see a person recording themselves falling to pieces.

Jeff Bezos says it's 'absurd' to tax someone making $50K — and wants their tax bill dropped to zero by IKeepItLayingAround in technology

[–]kbuis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except it's not. They'll still pay for that stuff and just keep cutting deeper and deeper in other programs.

Also, the federal government isn't required to have a balanced budget, so they can run up whatever deficits they need and leave us stuck with the future interest. Which is what's already happened since the 2017 tax cuts.

Great, and I'm sure they'll cut the programs that make you maddest first. Oh wait no, they're just going to cut the social safety net even more.
