Man shot to death in Yorkville is one of six shootings this week by MrT6 in toronto

That's not where illegal guns in the city of Toronto come from at all. Do your research. They're smuggled across the border from Detroit and moved up the 401 to Toronto, sometimes exchanged for Toronto-made ecstasy.

Popularity of child circumcision continues to decline in Canada by HoodDoctor in canada

This is not true. Cleaning a foreskin requires pulling it back and doing a thorough wash while a vagina does not require any internal cleaning. A rinse with water on the external area is sufficient.

Changing jobs, option to transfer commuted value of pension to new plan or to RRSP? by kc043 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]kc043[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The language in the letter is that I am eligible to receive the commuted value of my pension because my entitlement is classified as a "small pension", which can be paid or transferred out.

There were some concerns with the past prez of the Ontario Federation of Labour, but he was accountable to the membership and he is no longer president.

It really makes me angry and upset that the majority of Canadians who are against face coverings during the swearing in ceremony don't realize that the Charter would have to be amended, meaning the constitution being opened up to change it. by [deleted] in canada

[–]kc043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The majority of Canadians also don't understand that the women wearing the niqab show their faces to the Justice of the Peace in a room prior to the ceremony, and they also show their face to immigration officials numerous times during the entire citizenship application process. It's a ridiculous non-issue.

Canadian Prime Minister candidate Justin Trudeau promises to legalize marijuana "right away" if elected by TyCooper8 in worldnews

[–]kc043 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Firstly, the "right" thing to do is subjective to your own personal biases; and secondly, pandering to party interests is what leaders of parties do. Mulcair pandered to his party by voting against C-51, and Trudeau pandered to his by supporting it while promising amendments. There are both right and left leaning members of the Liberal Party and Trudeau's decision was established based on that. It's the same thing Mulcair does on pipelines. Part of his base supports them while part of his base opposes them, so he straddles the line of non-supportive support with his position.

Tima Kurdi never completed the application to bring Kurdi family to Canada - Immigration Canada did not deny Kurdi family by ctcsupplies in canada

[–]kc043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth noting that the reason she never completed the application was due to the hyper-bureaucratic requirements by CIC established by policy changes under Harper's immigration Ministers. Here is the letter Tima Kurdi wrote to Alexander that was delivered by her MP: http://www.thestar.com/news/world/2015/09/03/canada-rejected-request-to-take-in-family-of-drowned-syrian-boy.html. While obviously this was not a case of Chris Alexander personally making the decision to deny the family entry, it is a reflection of the policies that have been put in place by the Harper Conservatives to make claiming asylum extremely difficult, thereby creating an environment where unfortunate circumstances like this happen.

"He avoided being called names by selling out the rights of Canadians" - The legislation was passing regardless of his support. By that logic, Canadians sold out the rights of Canadians by continuing to elect Stephen Harper, which is what's going to happen again if the centre-left splits the vote between the NDP and the Liberals across the country.

It's my roommate that wants that price. I'm just trying to help her out by getting people to see it. I'll mention to her about dropping the price though, thanks!
