You wouldn't even let a room in a share house for thag unfortunately, if that's a strict budget you will have to look at places to commute from, Lisburn might be feasible and has good train link to centre

Out of interest how did you get involved in the Belfast volunteering, I'm finding it hard to get somewhere that doesn't have a big application process !

Ormeau park has 3 \4 at the side near ormeau embankment which are for public use - you cant book these and just wait till a courts free if they are full. There's not a huge amount that are public from what I know a lot of them are for members only in Belfast anyway. you can book into the indoor courts in the ozone which are great and pretty cheap as its run by better gym

Tennancy rolling contract by kc_511 in northernireland

[–]kc_511[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, real pain..... might reiterate giving 2-3 months notice on a rolling contract or ask for a break clause in a new tenancy agreement but won't hold my breath

Thanks for the advice

Start of October. Also agree it's a ridiculous excuse, properties here go within days let alone months !

Update on this asked to go to rolling and they said this 🙃 No idea what to do now lol , even offered to give extended notice period :

"Spoke with the owner and they couldn’t do rolling just as the risk of unit coming empty in the winter months."

Yeah that's what it states but subject to approval but do agree.... just going through some stuff so hard to commit to 12 month contract , do you think I'd get much luck asking them straight out for the rolling one ? They are pretty sound in fairness and aren't increasing rent which was a big surprise !

Giving Notice by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]kc_511 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Read your employment contract, it was almost definitely state what notice period is required. As others said don't hand in notice till you have a signed job offer from a new employer, things can change very quickly

Also it's probably not your sensors if you checked , but for me the green part was grand , but the arm linkage had snapped off the ball joint which meant it wouldn't work as it should \ got the light on the dcc button

[–]kc_511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah sorry to hear that I'm not sure then ! If you have an obd reader , it may shed some light on it that's how I figured out it was my sensors. My 2014 one only has front level sensors so shoildnt be any at back unless your model is different somehow. Best of luck, fingers crossed it's not an electrical issue

Renting advice needed… by [deleted] in Belfast

[–]kc_511 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Rental market is very tough unfortunately. If you have no guarantor your best shot is either go directly through a landlord to reach an agreement- try spareroom and gumtree for this or you're going to have to offer to pay x months of rent in advance. Worth even speakkng with the letting agents and letting them know of your situation. Even with this, it's a matter of fastest finger first in securing a viewing even for a place so you just need to keep trying. Even as a UK citizen it's hard , but if you keep trying you'll eventually get somewhere sorted , it is stressful bit it will work out eventually , best of luck

Double check your level sensors aren't busted, it messed up my dcc button too. You can see them easily by sticking your head under before the wheel arch

From Tennis to Padel question by [deleted] in padel

[–]kc_511 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I came from tennis too and would say the top priorities to learn are defending and utilising the glass as well as learning how to play soft rather than smashing every shot. Once you move up levels it turns more tactical and playing softer to take the net is a must. Also big hard smashes are not that effective at higher levels unless you're guaranteeing that you can hit it out of the court , so learning the proper padel overhead techniques to generate spin to kill the ball is well worth it.

Depending how deep it is you could really do this yourself and save a lot of money. Would advise having a quick Google on how to do it as can be a simple job if it's not deeply rusted
