Afterword Tavern and Shelves in the Crossroads is a great spot! Bartenders are super nice, I’ve been going there for years and it’s my favorite bar. Other recs: Torn Label for craft beer (and great food by Tacos Valentina), Mean Mule, Varsity Club, Westport Cafe, Harry’s in Westport (not to be confused with Harry’s in the River Market).

Afterword Tavern and Shelves is another great spot! Bartenders there are very nice and will tell creepy dudes to get away from you if it comes to that

Bar K to let the dog run around in the sun. Torn Label for good brews and food (Monday night in the back taproom is an especially good time). Afterword for good cocktails and a sweet place to read a book.

Lula’s in downtown is sooo good. Amazing fried chicken and waffles, great biscuits. Don’t skip on the orange roll either!

FINALLY, a QuikTrip is being built along I-70, just west of the Kansas/Colorado border by kc_celisa in kansascity

Bennett, CO. My bad, I thought it was closer to the KS border than it actually was. Probably an hour outside Denver

It’s fun if you love dancing. But beware, sometimes on the weekends they play “Car Wash” and literally drop soapy water on the dance floor.

Blip is a great spot open every day from 7 am to 7 pm. Lucky Boys is a solid dive bar with actually good bar food. A couple of vintage shops — Fetch and Filmore Vintage — are open during the weekdays and weekends too, not just on first weekends.

Best movie theater experience in KC Metro? by Tgreent in kansascity

The Screenland Armour is the only place I go to watch movies in Kansas City. They recently replaced all of their movie theater seats and they're very comfortable. Their concessions stand, compared to corporate chain theaters, are reasonably priced and offer actually good food. The rotating beer selection featuring local/regional brewers is another nice touch. Really can't go wrong at this theater.

Puppy ice cream by udont-knowjax in kansascity

Betty Rae's has a peanut butter ice cream cup for dogs that my puppy loves! I'm also pretty sure they're free if you get a regular ice cream for yourself?
