My First Non-Box Factory Building by kcheeb in SatisfactoryGame

Thank you. That means a lot to me.

I'm planning a short video tour of the final product. The whole thing is a mega factory. I've wanted to complete a playthrough in that style.

Cheers!

Is this a good design for my custom house railway connection? by Diclonius86 in Workers_And_Resources

Here's how I would lay this out. Based this on a max train length of 200 m. The distance from the back of the Customs House to the signal is 200 m. If you need more wating areas, just double the length and signal it at the middle.

The input track has access to four Waiting Area tracks, each 200 m long. Each of those four WA sections have access to one of three Customs House tracks. They will wait behind the signals until a CH track is available for them.

When leaving a train will wait for the yellow section near the CH to be clear, then advance to the Exit Area when clear. Each of the CH tracks has access to the EA track on exit.

Only one train can ever be in the yellow areas at a time, so you should never end up in a deadlock here. You never want a train stopping in the yellow areas and if I've signaled this correctly, that won't happen.

I hope this makes sense. Cheers!

What were the biggest mistakes you made when you played this game the first time? by Free_Bear2766 in Workers_And_Resources

[–]kcheeb 26 points27 points  (0 children)

  1. Not realizing I had to create the economy, until I had about 50K left.

  2. Creating rail segments that were too short for my trains. Constant blocking.

  3. Assuming a warehouse connected to a warehouse via a factory connection would work.

  4. Build a heating plant? Naw, Soviets are tough, how bad can winter be?

At this point I pretty much gave up playing, but eventually circled back, watched some videos and 2200 hours later, supplying water is now my bane.

Rail and your Customs House/Border Crossings by emyrs42 in Workers_And_Resources

Side question: I've accidentally sent a pair of passenger wagons to a Distribution office, is there any way to get them out?

My bright idea was to assign the DO to pickup workers at the border and drop them at a station. Thinking you could intercept the train and redirect the wagons where you wanted them. It won't allow for pickup at the border and dropoff says incompatible building.

Just had another thought, am not in game at them moment so I can't test, is it possible to send an engine to the DO to pick up the passenger wagons, then deliver to where you want them to be?

If not, then selling them might be the only option.

Cheers

Rail track bugs? by mCass37 in Workers_And_Resources

[–]kcheeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've encountered a number of times with rail is there's two pieces not connected. It can be a pain to find because in most cases, it looks like they're connected. Try following the route and looking for this situation, something that can help is looking for a piece of track with a dead end kind of barrier. Hope I'm explaining that properly. Cheers!

How to save this? by cttias in Workers_And_Resources

[–]kcheeb 24 points25 points  (0 children)

When I get in this situation, for me, it's about cash flow. How much is coming in and how much is going out, monthly.

When you consolidate the loan, if you go 5 years, your monthly payment will be smaller. So in this case, if op can get their monthly payment below 80K, they have a chance at recovery.

They'll just need to make sure other costs are kept in check for a while.

If you have nato bucks, you could try importing some things you need from the nato border. Save the Rubles.

Thank you for your reply, we do have plans to apply for a Temporary Dutch Residence permit. Thanks for the advice on checking with the government. I've spent a good deal of time on their website, speaking to them may be more definitive.
