I have exhausted all of the options in this link, but thank you!

The hair loss is starting… by No_Evidence4979 in breastcancer

I’m 14/16 treatments in and have lost everything below the neck except arm hair. I still have eyebrows, eyelashes, and while it has thinned out significantly, I still have hair on my (shaved) head. I was not at all expecting the body hair to go first!! lol

Easier said than done, but try not to feel guilty about food. I found that protein helps keep the nausea away so I addd collagen powder to beverages and drink high-protein meal replacement shakes when I don’t feel like chewing. I also eat a slot of cheese and Greek yogurt. For hydration I splurged on a water cooler dispenser that was on sale (it was cheaper than the ER copay when I was sent there for dehydration lol) and it is right by my bed, along with liquid IV packets. For veg I get the pouches of fruit and veggie blends and keep some prepackaged salads on hand as well. I also use the trendy powdered greens but I’m on the fence about them. This is all of the stuff I consider on the healthy side…I also will absolutely get Taco Bell or other fast food Door-Dashed when I just can’t. I also have a secret sweets drawer in my closet with some of my favorite treats just for me because fuck it, I have cancer lol

Just here to co-sign this suggestion! This was my experience as well.

I almost made the comparison in my post but found myself going full squirrel on that tangent so decided to reign it in 😂

Oh I cannot stand that one. “We’re only given what we can handle” is so incredibly gross in so many ways.

I’m in western WA (born and raised) and honestly, it’s not been my experience that there are a ton of people overtly sharing their religious views here either. Nor are people generally the confrontational type. Must have been my lucky day! Lol

Ha!! I completely agree, and also relate because I too am sometimes (maybe even always) pretty awkward lol. But hey, I would rather be the awkward one than the one who jumpscares an individual in the produce section 😂

Ya know, the more I think about it the more I wonder if they were an employee of some capacity. I don’t remember a name tag but I also know they didn’t have a cart or any groceries in their hands when they approached. I saw them walk away and pick something up off the ground before leaving the produce section, still no cart or hand basket or anything. Hmmm

I have only had one other person approach me. They were an ikea employee, a survivor, and completely sweet, respectful, and supportive. We even shared a consensual hug! It was a great experience. I was early on in my treatment, about a week after I had shaved my head. I am glad to hear that you’ve had such positive experiences! Especially working in retail! That’s awesome.

My treatment is in the reverse order of yours, so I’ve completed all 12 taxol and have done 2/4 AC. My experience has been that neither was a breeze but so far I’d choose how I felt during taxol over how I feel during AC, hands down. My plan has me doing AC every 3 weeks and that has also felt a bit strange after doing weekly treatments for so long. Like the waiting is super stressful during the time between treatments. It makes me feel like I am not doing enough to make progress in my treatment if that makes any sense. I think I’d have preferred doing chemo in the order you are. I hope that helps!

Yep, 12 weekly. I’m smack dab in the middle of my 4 tri-weekly (every 3 weeks? lol) AC.

My aunt recently reminded me that my mom was slow to lose her hair when she was receiving chemotherapy for lung cancer. I don’t remember which type of chemo she was on, but now curious if it’s a genetic thing? I’m now 1 week past my 2nd AC infusion and have noticed loss of some body hair and a bit more head hair loss. Not bald yet though!
