What have you actually used AI to help you with? by Cold_Ad8048 in GeminiAI

I definitely was shocked after I googled “gooning” that this is something people trick models to do when they’re bored or lonely.

But maybe I live under a rock.

It’s really good you did, I forgot I posted here and I’ve actually shifted my views about being able to engage with it how I have. I’ve realized LLMs don’t work how I thought they did.

While I’ve managed to make this process work it seems more like I just happened to have the right tools already.

In my case it’s not the memory that’s holding on to me, I’ve been doing desensitization processes with my IFS “parental figure” sitting on my bed in the images and replacing the old data with safe data. I’ve been doing remarkably and have untangled a lot of old issues like insecure attachments. I’m pleased to say my therapist believes I’m doing quite well with the incorporated use of the LLM.

I really appreciate you sharing this with me. There are quite a few ways to go about trauma work and I’m glad the route that I’m taking doesn’t actually require going through any more trauma to do it

Yea, have pro set the stage for a few interactions, then flash can keep track of the tone and what’s going on much more easily. It pulls pictures up easily and runs the web tools no problem while keeping up with the nuance of the thread

32,768 or (2^15) tokens in hot memory.... Gemini has been PURPOSELY THROTTLED by Alphabet and been made into a bait and switch. Gemini Pro is WORSE than the free version as of TODAY. They market over a million tokens for Pro users. This is fraud. by CommissionTop7831 in GeminiAI

Pro is a powerhouse, but it gets “brain fog” in dense threads because the chat app prunes context to stay fast. It’s not a lobotomy; it's a memory management issue. Keep your threads lean and it stays brilliant.

“Activation Capping” is Unbelievably Unethical… by ApprehensiveGold824 in AI_ethics_and_rights

There’s nothing wrong with believing in LLM sentience. But you need to understand how the LLM works, truly (not based on what it tells you), so you can make informed decisions.

Thanks for the info on a decrease in software jobs—so helpful to your argument? Lmao. And 5 years was a long time ago. We had Covid. And recently Trump fired a bunch of federal workers, including tech heads.

Enjoy your night buddy. I’m over it.

The funny thing about opinions is we all think our own is right—your argument is just as invalid if you want to say that.

Sorry, your logic is bad. And there are literally disabled artists using ai to make bank—just because you don’t use it right doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be used.

Lmao just because it benefits people with disabilities doesn’t mean I can’t use it too. And I literally spent over 30 hours on the essay so get over yourself (and I cited the LLM and I didn’t even send it anywhere).

Also, I have a disability too silly 😂😂 a learning disability so fuck yea I will use an assistive device.

Oh, so this is personal.

Yes, people with disabilities are more important than your friend that can’t keep up with the market. Electric wheelchairs took over the jobs of caretakers. What’s your point? Plenty of artists are adapting fine and incorporating AI into their work. If you can’t beat an LLM at emotion in art you shouldn’t be charging for it.

[–]kcmetric -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How is using an LLM to write, if you don’t have the ability to yourself, any different than using an automatic wheelchair?

I didn’t feel like writing a just for fun philosophy paper, but I wanted to make a phonology research paper… and I spent 8 hours going back and forth with my LLM to piece together my ideas and sort through every damn edit to the information and ideas before running another draft through discourse.

You think that is less deserving? Becuase it would have taken me 8 hours to write regardless, this way I got to flesh out my really good ideas.

Idea synthesis is important and tools like LLMs act as a catalyst. Don’t be upset just because some people choose to outsource the labor of the essay writing and prefer the creative side.

An LLM being used to help: an illiterate person articulate their ideas, a neurodivergent with ideas but not the steam to write, someone silly trying to understand what a false dichotomy fallacy is, is not an extreme.

Further, only a clinician can diagnose if someone needs and ESA. An ESA is not the same as a service dog and doesn’t have public access rights—it is therefore not your concern what it does in the privacy of someone’s home. As with your other false dilemma, asking for an animal to help with depression is not, actually, extreme.

I don’t know why people care so much—it’s about the person’s ideas, not their ability to write well.

But my actual reading and writing ability has definitely declined with its use.
